It happens. I know someone who deliberately puts a "croak" into her voice because she thinks it sounds sexy. She quite often forgets though and speaks normally.”

She is one of the most boring actress for me.Monotone and and no facial expressions at all.

She should move to Eastenders. She would fit in well there as all they do is a growling whisper.

Jamie Dornan was excellent when he was having that fit

Really, mum? No worry that she'll bunk off and go to the hospital or do something equally as stupid, no? I mean she has just this second stuck a piece of metal through her nose but that's of no concern to you?

How did Olivia know Katie's mobile number? If Olivia had it stored on her phone, if she has one, why not use that?

Why does nobody ever mention Spector's son? Why is he always forgotten?”

That was so stupid. I only know my own mobile number because it is so easy to remember.

Agree. The son was missing and not mentioned ?

To be honest that could just be that as part of her bail conditions she's not allowed out after a certain time. But yes you'd have hoped she'd remembered.

And why was there no armed guard outside the Belfast Strangler's room?! Was that because Rose WAS practically in the next bed to him?
Ridiculous.”

I've been wondering ..

a) Why Rose and Spector are in the same hospital, let alone the same ICU and

b) Why there isn't an armed guard of, at the very least, two officers in flak jackets with submachine guns (or whatever they use these days). One female police officer, who was so easily distracted when she spotted Katie, just doesn't cut it in this situation.

Should have left it at series one.

Was that lemon juice that Katie squirted in Daisy's face? Or had she bought the juice to provide her with a suitable squeezy bottle, into which she subsequently decanted something more acidic?

Lemon juice would have stung like hell, but anything stronger would possibly have blinded Daisy.

Yes, it was Lemon Juice, I don't think she replaced the contents.

Maybe it will be revealed he was faking it and really was that good”

Going the Primal Fear route?

Yes, indeed.
Gibson did nothing but stress to her team that they must make no more mistakes in their prosecution but the guy who is suspected of numerous murders is back to being conscious and lying in a hospital bed a few yards away from one of his victims....the victm actually sees him!
Can you just imagine that in court?

"Mi' Lud, and members of the jury, if the police thought my client was a seriel killer, then why would they allow one of his alleged victims to be in a hospital bed, only yards from the suspect?"

"Get me that bloody inept Gibson woman in my office, NOW"

That really bugged me too. I can suspend disbelief and give the benefit of doubt to dramas a lot of the time for a bit of a creative license, but that's just taking the mick. No way on earth would there be any scenario would a serial killer and victim would share a ward, even a hospital.

Maybe they're trying to portray Belfast as a small city with only one hospital...

It's nothing like her normal speaking voice. She's American in case you weren't aware. The voice and character of Stella is the way the writer Alan Cubitt intended it to be. Here's how she naturally sounds.

I just popped in to see what was being said here after the Daily Mail was reporting that the "Twitterbrigade" were slamming the series. I'm enjoying it and thought the "Primal Fear" when he revealed a limited memory.

I think the DM and Twitter have forgotten how clever this guy really is and I don't trust him one iota.

Which makes me think he's going to get away with it. Especially if his lawyer is as good as the policeman said.

It's The Fall, anything goes. It wouldn't surprise me if he jumped out of bed and rode off on a unicorn. This drama parted company with any semblance of reality long ago.

She sounds different to Stella but not actually full on American seeing as she spent most of her formative years in England. She's American-British. From Wikipedia:

Quote:
“Anderson was born in Chicago, Illinois to Rosemary Alyce Anderson (née Lane), a computer analyst, and Homer Edward "Ed" Anderson III, who owned a film post-production company.[3][4] She is of English, German, and Irish ancestry.[5] Soon after Gillian's birth, her parents moved to Puerto Rico for 15 months, then to London, England. The family relocated so that her father could attend the London Film School.[6] She spent her childhood growing up in north London's Crouch End and Harringay.[7] She was a pupil of Coleridge Primary School.[8] When Anderson was 11 years old, her family moved again, this time to Grand Rapids, Michigan.[9] They continued to have a flat in London, where she spent her summers”

And to add a footnote to what the_lostprophet posted above, she's lived in London since 2002, all of which would explain why she has such a 'convincing' English accent.

So this hour literally was 24-hours in ICU.

He's faking it - the little grimace to himself as he readied to lie to his daughter.

I guess he understands the law to a meaningful extent because of his job, probably just enough. At one point, with his face covered in tubing, I had a momentary flashback to Hannibal Lector in that grill which was interesting ..

It doesn't explain anything. She married a Brit (I believe) which was why she moved back to the UK. But if you had watched that interview clip of a few years ago her natural accent, affectation, mannerism etc is very much that of an American. There's no denying it, unless you think she's faking it, then why would she do that?.

Fwiw, the "alleged victim of a serial killer" would be .. dead.

But he didn't kill Rose and her was taking provisions to the car until the business with Stella intervened. It's the opposite behaviour to that of a serial killer.

I don't think there's any doubt in law that Rose and Spector know each other and what he did in relation to Rose.

And here's an interview where she sounds a lot more British.

She doesn't fake it but I believe she has said she just falls into whichever of the two accents those around her are using.

So being interviewed in America she sounds American and being interviewed by Parkinson she sounds British.

So good to hear her talking properly, whatever the accent. I wonder why she chooses to whisper in The Fall.
