Youview box and volume control
Once the Youview remote has been paired up to the TV, is there anyway of being able to control the volume setting on the Youview box rather than the TV volume?

Can you explain why you would want to? Basically you can't if relying on the HDMI connection to pass the audio to the TV. There is possibly a workaround if you can hook up the analogue audio RCA output from the Youview box to the TV and persuade the TV to use that instead (I sometimes do stuff like that but that is using a separate AV amp for audio).
Edit: Maybe if you connect the Youview box to the DVI wired HDMI socket of the TV (if it has one) and use the associated separate audio input. |

Once you have set the volume on the Youview box then paired the Youview remote with the TV then there is no way to control the volume on the Youview box.
I set my BT G4 Youview box volume to 80% before I paired the Youview remote with my Samsung full HD smart TV. I do find that some channels seem louder than others via the Youview box depending on what you are watching. Darren |

Hold down the AD button while using the volume buttons has always worked for me using the standard remote for DTR-T2100 and DTR-T4000 when the sound is set to 'Stereo'. If you have the sound set to 'Surround' then the volume defaults to 100% and cannot be changed even with a remote that has not been setup to also operate the TV. As far as I can tell the AD button access to the Youview volume control has been the way of doing it from the start. Also should work for the mini BT Youview box according to its User Guide. |

Now I never knew that little combination. Sounds very unlike Youview to do something like that for a UI that they promoted as being user-friendly and ideal for the new PVR user. I wonder if that is an Easter Egg programmed in by one of the team tasked with coding the volume control routines and how many other Easter Eggs there are?
