Shows like the The Voice and X Factor are pointless in the streaming era. Anyone half decent now can post their stuff to youtube and Spotify and gain a following and signed to an independent label that way.

X Factor now mostly just attracts the attention whores that want to appear on the next series of CBB.

Well ultimately they've always been more about entertaining a TV audience than finding stars and so they'll go on.
