Lauren is going to be revealed as the bully soon and will be permanently expelled according to Lucy Fallon:

Speaking to the Daily Express, Lucy revealed that Bethany will finally be vindicated as Lauren gets exposed as a bully and is permanently expelled.

"The head teacher says that she's been very brave in coming forward and that because of her a lot of other girls came forward to say it happened to them, too," Lucy explained.

"She goes home and tells her mum and gran and then she just bursts into tears because she's so relieved that it's all over."

Awww that's nice to know!!!
I've come to really like Bethany as a character!!! Right from the beginning I thought she had real potential if they just showed a softer & more vulnerable side to her character which is exactly what they have done!!

Lucy Fallon has been a revelation in the role!!

Hopefully that will be an end to her being bullied by Lauren, though I don't know how much difference it would make in real life!!

Soaps can't win on this forum.

You're moaning about it being cliché yet had the story gone on for much longer with Lauren not being exposed, people would have said it was dragging on for too long or was unrealistic.

Anyone who thought that would be an idiot because bullying doesn't work that way. So please don't speak for me.

It doesn't matter whether it's been 5 weeks or 5 minutes It's the same outcome for every bullying storyline that comes round every few years on Corrie. I like Bethany I'm glad they've given her something to do but bullying is stale it's always the same outcome. The only good to come out of it is Gary and his relationship with both Bethany and Sarah.

Agreed!

Surely to be more realistic they would have just ended it without resolution (which can happen in real life trust me) or even just had Bethany move schools (which does happen in real life too)

What is the point in an in constructive post like that? Obviously some will care, hence people have posted before you.

Surprised anyone cares on here to be honest. Practically everyone was complaining about the storyline saying how unrealistic it was and how '90s' the bullying was being perceived. You know because each generation has its own style of bullying. Roll eyes.

Too right, Shannon Flynn's lovely. Hopefully she'll be back with a permanent and nicer role before long.

Agreed Lucy Fallon has been very good in this storyline (in my opinion) and I'm hoping Bethany does get a happy ending to this bullying storyline.

Agreed!

Lauren most likely wouldn't have stopped even if Bethany had moved schools as the only times we saw her bully her at school (on screen) was with her gang in their first appearance, at the bus stop when Luke saved Bethany and when she threatened her before she went to the Headmasters room when Gary was there as most of the time she's on the street threatening Bethany, sending nasty texts to Bethany or stealing Bethany's phone all outside of school.

Also Lauren would've only bullied someone else even if she stopped bullying Bethany as it seems from this Bethany wasn't her first victim which means Bethany wouldn't have been her last either so I'm glad she's finally being punished for her horrible bullying.

"The head teacher says that she's been very brave in coming forward and that because of her a lot of other girls came forward to say it happened to them, too," Lucy explained.

This was the worst, most pathetic, most unrealistic bullying storyline I've ever seen, I'm just glad its over.

This being the same head teacher who couldn't be bothered to listen to either girl the other week and just suspended both.

I guess they had to conclude the story somehow and although it may be clichéd to have this ending I can understand why they may have done it this way. It is much better and safer to send out the message that reporting bullying leads to it being dealt with eventually and can empower others to come forward too, than to give the message of there is no point reporting it because bullies get away with it so suffer in silence. For that reason alone I am not against this ending to the storyline. We all know there are plenty of cases where nothing gets done and the conclusion only happens when the person leaves school etc. That is what happened in my case.

Now that Lucy Fallon is given a half decent story line, her acting is showing IMO. I hope the writers dont revert to crappy story lines for her.

I agree there's plenty of storylines possible for Bethany in the future like trying to find out about her father's (Neil Fearns) side of the family for example.
