I should save stuff. Not the first thing I've seen that's disappeared. Another was Danny Miller regretting he'd left Emmerdale and wanting to go back. Then he was back and it was all Kate Oates idea!!!!

Yes, I think it was too.

Ryan Thomas in Strictly and the other one in I'm a Celeb. In confusing myself now.

One or other of them even both will be 'I'm a celeb' fodder without a doubt.

I may of course be wrong but I firmly believe Ali King wouldn't be seen dead on it!!
Ryan a distinct possibility!!

I'm sure the large fee they get paid for the appearance would help ease the I wouldn't be seen dead feeling.

I'm actually more shocked they thought they could do it and actually quit Corrie. I'm also a little annoyed they're moaning about it so soon. At least give it a year before you beg for your job back at Corrie.”

Disagree.

She is the most annoying actress in the world. She is ok as long as she can keep her own accent.

Alison King put on a northern accent for the part, she wasn't playing herself

We'll see but I would be very, VERY surprised to see her on one of those shows (not that I would see her cos I can't stand the crap) but she has always struck me as more of a private person who would rather fade out of the industry altogether than appear on that sort of tripe!!
Hopefully though she will have success doing what she is good at, ie acting!!
Just because I became fed up to the back teeth of Carla doesn't mean I don't rate AK as an actress & want to see her do well outside of Corrie.....if for no other reason, to ensure that she isn't tempted to return as Carla!!

Ahhh is that why she talked through her nose? She was doing the Liam Gallagher style of Manc accent? It just got worse until she could have been mistaken for a nasal foghorn. I liked Carla until the end - it would be interesting to see her play someone else.

Clearly they are not the deluded ones...

I doubt any of them made the decision lightly, some acting big breaks away from a soap can take a while, look at Suranne Jones, she worked her arse for years to get away from the soap typecast and she now at the top of her game.

They of course have to get the work and projects, but nothing is stopping them.

However I guess they can sit in comfort knowing that a job is likely still at Corrie if they want to return.

This isn't like EastEnders where actors clamber back after only a short time away, and are always coming and going.

And you had to link the Daily Star of all places, and believe they are struggling because of a couple of quotes.

I don't think Ryan Thomas is hurrying back or going to the jungle

Juicy Jason and Mrs Fanshaw will return and become the new power couple of the show next year and that Carla woman will never be mentioned again.

Good luck to him whatever he decides to do next!!
Always loved Jason as a character so if he does decide to come back at some point I'll be very happy too!!

Ryan Thomas is fortunate enough to be able to afford Drama School.

Drama School is very expensive.

No, not according to Coronation Street PR you mean. That was sent out to all registered 'press'. Only a few posted it. I'd be surprised if Ryan Thomas even saw it.

Are you saying the answers to the questions are all made up including the one about his daughter?

I really have to disagree with you on this one!!

That to me is just about as genuine an interview as you're ever going to find!!

I wouldn't mind Jason's return, even if he isn't at the top of my list of favourite characters but he was harmless. But no offense to Alison King but hopefully Carla never darkens the street again and we have to put up with more self-pitying and her self destructive ways.

Very few interviews are genuine.

The popularity surrounding her has been caused by playing an extremely popular character. She was never that successful after she left Dream Team either. And dare I say it (please don't jump down my throat!) age is not on her side.

Also for Ryan Thomas having played the lad type role for 15 years means his future roles are limited as Corrie was his first job I think. I'm not saying he's a bad actor because he played the role of Jason very well just he's never had experience in other roles. If he was going to leave, he should have done it a decade ago, not after many years playing a role with little depth and character development.

But in general, how many soap actors do have a relatively successful career once leaving their respective soaps? And I'm not talking about Suranne Jones successful, just getting more work than guest roles in Doctors etc. Quite a few have came back with their tales in between their legs even those who I consider quite talented can't make it (e.g Tina O'Brien, Bruno Langley, Jane Danson etc).”

Jane had roles in A&E and The Bill between her Corrie stints. She was like a future Lacey Turner in that she wanted to try different roles then realised she enjoyed Corrie enough to come back. Where she has had a change of heart is that in 2000 she felt that there was little new that could happen to Leanne, but now she enjoys the steady work as well as realising that Leanne is still quite a versatile character.
