I really hope Babe doesn't go, she is a brilliant character, and I'm still waiting for something good to happen between her and Abi, there's unfinished business there.

Pleased about this. She was better when she wasn't a regular. It's become a farce with her shananigans. I don't mind if they just leave Mick, Shirley, Johnny and Tracey in the Vic. They can then take on some young bar staff.

I will miss her Antics

I'm not sorry to see Babe leave EastEnders and it was the right decision for her to go, in my opinion. When Babe made her first appearance, she was a fiercely strong willed character who was a bit mischievous to begin with, but her behaviour spiralled out of control as time went by. I don't think the character could be redeemed after the shocking baby secret and she was absolutely awful to the Cokers and I wasn't a fan of the blackmailing plot.

However, I'm concerned about the future of the Carters and the Vic. The Carters thrived when there were lots of family members and Mick is a great family man but I hopeLinda's temporary exit sends him to a new direction. He will have Johnny and Shirley in the Vic but they need more staff. They could hire some new staff like Kathy or Honey, also, I think Shirley should be chief landlady because her name is above the door and she is very underused right now.

But there could be plans for the Carters to leave the Vic and replace it with a new family because I don't think O'Connor is a fan of them if he's slowly getting rid of the family members.

Me too and I think Tina will be axed and Sylvie will leave.

Johnny desperately needs some work done- Ted Riley has been living virtually nothing to do.

I wonder if Danny Dyer will take a break when Kellie Bright does?

DTC must be spitting blood at Sean O'Connor right now!!

Sounds like she gonna be recurring rather then total axed, babe not a character I care for, so far the only ones that have gave me a tinge are R&R and Masood, still think Tina, Shaki, Johnny could be axed.

I wish she would just leave and never come back. Babe is a vile creature.

That's v because they need to let the re-cast Johnny bed in and let viewers get used to him before they put a massive story on him. Like they did with Shabnam

Now this is an axing I do support.

I was reading in the ratings thread, about 40pc of the BBCs output is being put out to tender? Ever thought the endless axings could be a sign?

Shabnam was a much bigger character the second time around.

The Nu Johnny has done nothing.

Blame the new charter! The gov think that instead of the BBC making in house productions that they should allow more third party production companies to make stuff. Competition was the word.

Just like the new equality guidelines which aren't equal or right in any sense

If Tina & Johnny are both axed it could spell the end of the Carter's.

Give it time, I reckon more and more people will avoid paying the TV licence. It will become a news channel in 2020.

Within two months of being on the show, Shabnam had a big relationship going on with Kush and the revelation about the child she had given up had come out. Johnny has been there for almost six months now and all he's done is played a very small supporting role to Ben during the aftermath to Paul's death. You can't really compare the two. I do think they probably wanted to give Ted Reilly a bit of time to gain some experience on the set before giving him a storyline but DTC really should have tried to do something with him, even if it was just a relationship, before SOC took over. Unfortunately by not bothering with him he's left him in a very vulnerable position. Even Shakil has had more to do at this point.

And if Abi and Lauren are axed it could mean the end of the Brannnings. All speculative at this point.

There's no one in the show ATM who could take over the Vic so they'd have to bring another family in which is a huge gamble considering how popular the Carters are.

I think there's a few who can take over the Vic. The Mitchells, Max, Belinda eg. But I would like the Carters to remain in the Vic but it's too risky if a new family buys the Vic. I'm glad Mick and Linda became breakout/popular characters. If the Carters leave the Vic which is a possibility in O'Connor's era, I think he may bring back a regular character with a new family. Janine with a new husband and step-kids would be ideal

I read this as 'Johnny definitely needs Steven'

That however will be the storyline that saves him, if they do it that is.

Sharon could well be back in the Vic.

On another note was Babe axed or did Annette Badland chose to leave.

Unfortunately it appears they are in danger but I hope O'Connor sends Tina in a new direction. Johnny is very underused but Ted isn't a good actor sadly but I wouldn't want them to get rid of him because it means Mick and Linda won't have any children to interact. They have Ollie but he won't provide any drama for them until he's in his teens.

I agree there are loads of characters who would work in The Vic, Sharon would easily slot back in, Belinda would work in there, Max possibly could if Belinda was on his arm although I'm not too sure if Max has the charm to be landlord, Martin and Stacey would both work in there together. Or maybe he will bring a character back. We've all said Janine would work in The Vic, maybe this era could be her moment and Janine having step kids could actually be really fun.

If the Carters can't work outside the Vic they aren't fit to be on the show as that means they are one dimensional.
