Kirsty Murphy gatecrash - proof it is NOT staged

A lot of people are questioning whether or not the girl who gatecrashed that group's audition today was staged or not... I'm gonna go with NO and here's why:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/x...claims-8206163

^ Daisy Gill another singer who was told by producers they wouldn't have time for her audition. She posted a youtube video (link below) angrily describing her experience, and in that video she said when she barged into the audition room there was another person she knew there who also had decided to go in and "may have got to sing for the judges". I'm guessing that other person was Kirsty Murphy, which would make sense since Daisy auditioned in Manchester which is the same place Kirsty auditioned at.

More evidence it's a fix, contestant " runs in" but has a mic on.

really is anyone believing it's not staged?

It was so staged, as she was mic'd up. I felt sorry for the poor girl group who just walked out when she arrived, but they were probably just stooges, not even a group, as we did not hear them sing a note.

The whole this was terribly set up, usually Simon just gets people removed by security, but this time he let her sing straight away.

Pathetic, do they think we are that stupid?

Oh and she was awful!

Everyone is mic'ed up, which is how you get those annoying comments from the holding room during auditions

If that had been genuine she would simply have been removed by security. It was so staged it would be insulting of the programme to try and suggest otherwise.

Not that it matters as although she can sing, I doubt very much she'll get further.
Although to defend the show, they have to make things like that up else it'd be too boring wouldn't it!

I definitely think you guys are jumping to assumptions. Sure it definitely LOOKS staged, and a lot of people are condemning her for not "waiting her turn". But in actual fact, she would never have had her turn had she not done what she did.

If you looked at the first link I posted http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/x...claims-8206163 you'll find that some contestants are put on "reserves" lists where they have to wait up to 10 hours to audition and may or may not get seen by the judges. After all that time waiting, these reserves (including Daisy Gill in the link I posted, as well as Kirsty Murphy) were told by the producers that they would not be seen by the judges. So Daisy (along with Kirsty) then attempt to burst into the audition room angry about how they had been treated, filmed as unpaid extras on the show and having to waste a whole day without even getting to perform (but Daisy is held back by "an apologetic researcher"). In her youtube video, Daisy refers to going in with a friend (Kirsty), and whilst Daisy never got to perform for the judges, she said her friend "may have got to sing for the judges".

But the way Kirsty was portrayed on TV makes her seem like a spoilt brat who couldn't be bothered waiting her turn.

All done to make her look like a complete and utter fool, and to make a few tacky headlines for the show in the tabloids. No surprise really.

well those on reserve never get anywhere as nearly all finalists are scouted already ( so invited to audition) so why they bother waiting?

Daisy Gill was scouted by producers, but even scouted acts are sometimes put on reserves (I think Ben Haenow was scouted and put on reserves too, but he obviously got to perform). There are a lot of scouted contestants who are either not aired or do not get very far in the competition, they only show a select few of scouted contestants on TV.

I wish people would actually listen to what the OP has said and watch the video before immediately rejecting it. Why would this other girl who feels she has been treated so badly lie?

The whole show is staged I counted 3 times the camera was put onto her saying to her mum they ain't going to have time to see me , how did the camera crew know she was going to say this 3 times and then now she was going to gate crash the show , the show is so staged and scripted

I agree 100% anyone who really believes that wasn't staged has no idea how media and the production of this type of show works!

Does anyone really believe security would be that lax!!! Err i don't think so!

whoever watched at least one series knows it's staged

While I don't think for one second that this wasn't faked, the show has become such a parody of itself that even if something genuinely dramatic happens spontaneously, we are so cynical now that we all roll our eyes and think 'here we go again'

When people say she was "mic'd up", what's the suggestion, that she was wearing a wireless mic set?

In the clip, I see a soundman holding a boom mic over her head to pick up what she says, but presumably they'd do that with with a genuine gatecrasher anyway.

I'm not suggesting it wasn't staged - in a sense it's been staged after the event even if it arose out of a genuine incident, due to the way it's been edited and presented. That girl group were made to look like fools, they could have edited them out of the show altogether to save their embarrassment.

Yea this. Don't think anyone else has actually bothered to read it or look at the links I posted. If they did, then they might have second thoughts about whether or not this was staged.

just wait for judges houses (overs category in particular) then come back here saying this show is not staged

Of course, lots of aspects of the show are staged, it doesn't take Einstein to figure that out!

BUT in this particular case, I posted a valid argument for why this is less likely to be staged and if people actually bothered to read my OP and the links I posted then they'd understand and probably agree with me.

I've read the article. I'm not going to watch 23 minutes of someone moaning about the audition process - which sounds exactly as phoney and stage-managed as I'd expect it to be - just to confirm that someone who "may" have been Kirsty Murphy "may" have got to sing for the judges after gatecrashing and complaining.

That isn't "proof" of anything.

Not 100% conclusive evidence, but it makes it pretty damn likely, because:

1) Both Daisy and Kirsty performed at the same venue, the Manchester auditions.
2) It's extremely rare for contestants to barge in to the audition room like this (never known to have happened ever before) so for it happen twice in one year in two unrelated events is not likely.

So it's almost certain that Daisy's friend was Kirsty and they barged in together. As Daisy explains, she got held back by producers/security but Kirsty (or whoever her friend was) managed to get through and perform to the judges.

So even if Daisy's friend was someone other than Kirsty, then this friend still got to see the judges in the same way that Kirsty did so it makes no difference - it still happened legitimately in some way or other.

This. Daisy has also replied in the comments to say it was in fact Kirsty so I've no reason to not believe her. How I see it is two girls getting p*ssed off about waiting all day and not being allowed audition so barge in with the producers allowing the drama to unfold(for one of them anyway) to make good tv.

How do you know she has a mic on? Looks like they're using the boom mic to me

Yep, here's proof of those comments: http://imgur.com/a/jPrZV

The producers may well have dramatised/manipulated the situation once they caught on to what was happening but it doesn't change the fact that Kirsty's initial reaction to barge in was completely spontaneous and not set up and Daisy has now confirmed that.
