How exactly do you pronounce 'Brexit'?

Whilst abroad I was talking to someone from that county about Brexit. He kept referring to a vote to remain as Brexin, I didn't have the heart to tell him that term made no sense whatsoever.

I am waiting for someone to pronounce Brexit as they see the word ie as Breeg-zit!

I thought it was only deeply old-fashioned, posh tossers like Jacob Rees-Mogg who pronounced exit as eggzit.
