Does anyone else feel like there rushing this series ? Like were at 6 Chair Challenge ALREADY it feels like we should still be watching the audition rounds ! I don't feel like I really know any of the contestants well enough or there voices well enough to root for someone yet either .

No this is normal.

Last year had maybe lulled you into a false sense of security. It was waayyyyy too drawn out last year, simply because of the rugby world cup.

The first live show is when it usually is, other than last year.

spiidey is spot on, last year's format was different and had 3 fewer live shows and 3 more pre-recorded episodes so was more drawn out

Boot camp felt a little rushed but other than that not really - especially as it's on twice across the weekend.

I'd agree 100% with this whilst I'm sure it's always been the case this year it somehow seems far more obvious.

Nothing about the show feels natural to me now and whilst i quite like the odd funny audition this year has seen far too much focus on them!

The auditions seem to have flown by but I'm not complaining - they were padded out with so much crap it was unbelievable. They could have cut them to four episodes and I wouldn't have minded.

Bootcamp was rushed! Why not spread Bootcamp out over four episodes? And let us see everyone singing instead of giving certain people airtime and other acts who may be talented none at all. Very unfair. They sang in groups of 3 so why not show them all singing or just have them each sing individually? Next year, they need to revamp the Bootcamp stage so that all artists are given equal airtime. I wanted to see people who we didn't get to see at the auditions stage as well as those that we did see. I'd like them to make the acts perform solo next year at Bootcamp and show around 30 acts per show over the course of four 90 minute episodes - that way we get to see and hear everyone who made it into Bootcamp.

Agreed with this! Seemed silly showing 1 person in a group of 3 singing just because they were a chosen one. it's not like they disnt have time show all 3 singing. Maybe they should have had bootcamp on both Saturday and Sunday not just yesterday.

Last year's was much better when they were outside and we heard everyone sing.

I was going to do a similar thread on this. I was going to ask people their opinions on this years X Factor but I felt it was still quite early on to do so. This is similar so I'll just post here.

I think this years X Factor is one of the worst series that there has been. I agree with Ronell this series feels extremely rushed and there was hardly any auditions unlike previous series. It was mostly sob stories and other rubbish. I know we have had sob stories previously in other series but this year went over the top with them with one after the other. I also agree with Ronell about not feeling as if we're getting to know the contestants. I know I moaned about sob stories but we can get to know contestants without sob stories.

I know there was good singers and obviously some bad singer/joke acts but no one stood out for me. Well apart from Emily Middlemas and that's because I liked her in series 11 back in 2014.

Bootcamp seemed a farce and also very rushed especially as it was recorded over 3 or 4 days. Also there were a lot of good acts that chose terrible songs and done terrible performances and still got through. Songs that shouldn't haven't have been put on the wall of songs anyway. I don't know how they managed to choose who to put through by just hearing them sing in a group for one song. What happened to the days where they were put through the paces and we got to hear everyone sing and the judges actually agonise over who they were gonna put through. This year it seemed extremely easy for them to to choose people to put through and send home.

It's also obvious this year that the show is trying to hide the fact they've already chosen a front runner for the show. Also I know I've mentioned in another thread that I'm happy with Sharon being back and not being fussed about Louis or Nicole but it's not like it was previously. There isn't much personality or fun between the judges. It all seems very forced at times. I noticed it one time between Simon and Nicole. She had said something and Simon had a look on his face that said "God. I've got to talk to her." Also Nicole this year seems very cheesy more so than she has previously and she needs to get over the fact that she wasn't asked back after series 10. Especially after one audition where she said "I wasn't invited back that year" and then looked at Simon. If Simon had wanted you back then he would have asked you back. There's no need to bitch or moan because he asked/prefers Cheryl over you.

It wasn't exactly drawn out last year. I started at the same time it does every year but with the Rugby cutting into the X Factors Schedule they had to find a way around this and had done so by cutting three live shows especially seen as they were losing a Saturdays for three weeks during the Bootcamp and 6 Chair Challenge stages of the competition.

Looking on Wiki, I know not a reliable source. They had the same amount of auditions episodes and two Bootcamp episodes unlike this year where we only got one and last year had three Six Chair Challenge episodes where we will probably get four this year.

I agree last year and when Bootcamp was done previously was much better. As I've mentioned previously in this post it was a farce and was very rushed surprised they could actually cut down the act especially when some of the good acts had done some terrible performances.

no its not rushed

I like the fact that it's a bit quicker this time around because normally by the time we get to the live shows there's been so many performances that people stick with their favourites and it's very hard for the bottom 5 of the first vote to ever pick themselves up all the way to the top even if they've been really good at the lives (see series 9 as the prime example) it can be a joke sometimes in that regard.

The fact that there's no firm favourite yet means that people can look at the live shows a bit more objectively.

I think it is much better than last year.

I think saying the process/showing of acts is 'unfair' is ludicrous. These are people who have auditioned for a talent show so they can win, and the tv company is not simply wasting our time over the melodrama of who doesn't get to the lives. You need a bit of tension as to who is going to make it, but the tv company are not obliged to show them!

And thank God - last year was tedious.

Aside from the Rugby last year, it's only been in the last 2 or 3 years that they've been doing Sat/Sun shows for the entire series so you might not be used to that. We used to have an extra week or two of audition shows because it was just Saturdays.

This year rushed? Really?

The reason last year was so dreadful was because it was absolutely ruined by the Rugby World Cup. By the time we got to the lives, we didn't know most of the people, very few back stories etc, and it had clearly been set up from week one for Louisa to win. I have a good memory for facts and stats and last week I had to look up to remember any of the groups or overs from last year.

It wasn't helped by the six-chair overkill and the horrific live reveal of what is usually the best episode of the series, but to me last year felt more rushed and disjointed than this year ever could be.

And yes, it's clearly fake and scripted, but if you decide not to worry about it, chances are you'll just enjoy it. Easy watching this year so far.

Well the auditions used to just be on once a week, didn't they? So we would normally have 6 weeks of auditions before bootcamp. Although, I'm glad they've put them on Sat and Sun this year as I tend to get fed up with them.

Given this year's blink-and-you-miss-it bootcamp, I can assume we're getting 2 weeks of SCC and a dragged out JH and possibly more live shows than last year.

Bootcamp was very rushed but I guess that's just because nobody cares about it. The auditions weren't rushed though.

I think it is being rushed because it started later this year than previous because ITV did not want it to clash with the Olympics.
