The new EP seems to be getting rid of "waifs and strays" characters. Even ones who have quite a bit of potential but have just been on the sidelines and not utilised.

I can't see him axing some of the characters he's axed and yet holding onto Cora.

I hope Cora doesn't return she has not been missed imo. However I have a feeling she'll be back, getting drunk and being a horrible nuisance.

I think Cora's place is stronger they need someone to interact with Patrick and Dot.

Yeah she's coming back I think, but my point was - I don't think the new EP will be keen to keep her around judging by how he's axed other characters of a similar ilk,

A nasty character played in a one dimensional way. Personally, I've not missed her one bit.

I am really struggling to work out why people care, I mean seriously she has not been on screen for best part of a year, and when she was it a few episodes over a long peroid, she was extended family of the regular cast, never able to stand on her own two feet as a character.

I dont get the obsession either.

Me either, I just hope we get confirmation soon that she is not returning so we can stop having so many threads about her possibly coming back or not! The character has never done anything remotely interesting enough to garner this much discussion lol

Maybe the new executive producer will abandon plans to bring Max back as well. Jake Wood is a good actor, but the character has been going around in circles for years. I hope that Lauren, Steven and Jack are the next characters to exit.

I kinda agree about Max- though being wrongly imprisoned for almost a year due to your neighbours setting you up could have an interesting affect on him as a character.

Lauren and Jack- meh I wouldn't cry over them leaving to be honest- in fact with Ronnie and Roxy going I see very little reason why Jack would stay.

As for Steven, I think he has been quite interesting since his return, any reason you want him to go?

Why so many threads/posts about Cora? This obsession is becoming increasingly tiresome.

Must admit while I liked Cora as a character the constant talk about her on here is baffling to me. It feels like every thread ends up becoming all about Cora.

Exactly. DS need to develop a filter because I'm sick of seeing her name dropped into every discussion.

Apparently Jake Wood has already returned to filming.

Lauren's return has been very weak- she has barely been used.

Jake Wood signed a contract last year securing his return so their is nothing SOC can do about that.

I think Ian and Jane could stand on their own and, if one of the children or stepchildren needs to return to keep up the family dynamic, that Cindy has more potential. I'm also not keen on the Steven-Lauren pairing. Abbi, on the other hand, has developed into an interesting character and has a better interaction with Dot.

Not another Cora thread. This is how it's going to end up.

1) Someone has the cheek to suggest Cora should leave.
2) Vaslav will take it as a personal insult and defend her to the hills)
3) Bitter and personal insults will be exchanged between Vas and anyone who dislikes Cora.
4) Repeat steps 2 to 4.

You forgot the part where you and a certain other poster will come in and try to wind Vaslav up by focusing on him instead of the topic at hand.
