Hi There.

I hope she doesn't come back mainly because she's quite horrible and also because that would increase the chances of a Dexter return. Dexter and Shaqil on the same show, torture

I really don't think Dexter will return and I cant see Shakil lasting once his contract is up.

If she out of contract he has no obligation to bring her back, I would find it strange if he did when he axed others, it never really made much sense why she was sent packing in the first place unless Ann Mitchell had to because of personal reasons but from what has been said in the past that isn't the case.

Its pretty clear to me she was axed by DTC. I know EE said she would be returning after a break but he hardly used her anyway and Ann herself even said on her now deleted Twitter that she would have liked more screen time.

Apart from the long timers DTC had very little interest in characters he did not create. Its no surprise he didn't give Cora anything to do. The way he treated the actress who played Lola was disgusting and don't get me started on the Kierston Wareing fiasco.

DTC treated Danielle Harold and Kierston Wareing very unfairly but when they were axed, they were axed. There has been no comment on Ann from either herself, DTC or Sean O'Connor on Cora's future. I refuse to believe she has been axed until we hear concrete information on her future from Sean O'Connor and as yet that has not happened.

I know Wiki is not always reliable but on EE it is pretty up to date-

this is what it says-

Surprised Cora Cross doesn't have her own sub-forum all to herself. It would be full to accommodate all the Cora threads that pop up.

Exactly, I remember him (DTC) raving on about them doing a storyline about elderly isolation and it was pretty much Cora acting like a drunk lush for a few weeks then dumped out of walford and not spoke of again.

SOC is pretty much doing what DTC done to BK/LN characters before getting rid.

I hope SOC reverses some of DTC's worst decisions and brings back Kat, Alfie, Lola, Aleks and Cora.

The thing is Vald we do not know the status of Cora as EE has not told us.

Aleks & Lola wee both axed

Kat & Alfie are a bit like Cora, we don't know although I suspect they could be back next year.

I'm convinced her return has been scrapped. Especially with this producer.

Sean O'Connor has axed a few older cast members - not sure what means for Cora, it could strengthen her return. We shall see over the next month or so when hopefully we will hear from the new EP himself.

Ann Mitchell is a very good actress and I don't think EE has always got the best out of her. I don't know if DTC put her on a "hiatus" as a way of axing her (despite the reports about her returning later this year), but he certainly should've given her homeless storyline much greater thought and time. Her exit was literally done in the space of two episodes in December. And for months prior to that she was seen making odd appearances while no one did anything to help, except Carol and Jane for a while.

DTC was so intent on getting rid of any remaining Kirkwood and Newman characters including good ones like Kirsty, Jake and Lola. It makes me hope that SOC can reverse that by bringing Cora back. Lola returning would be nice, no DTC around so SOC doesn't have to answer to him.

With Max coming back, and the girls still around there is family for Cora on the Square. Plus Abi isn't chasing around Ben anymore so it gives her time to settle Cora back in if she returns. Moreover the number 60+ characters are being reduced. Buster (I think he's over 60), the Cokers, Claudette (think she's just 60) and Babe are all going. Patrick is still around and sadly I don't think Dot is going to be around forever. So in that sense Cora serves a purpose by making up the numbers of older characters.
