It was sad how the whisper crew latched onto Darnell freaking out in a desperate attempt to distract from Dennis's spitting. I wonder if they feel silly about that now they can look back on it objectively, not just playing who's friends with who.”

That was Big Brother at it's best, not a C5 Big Brother staged row, all started with Rex playing silly buggers with Jen's awful painting!
The tension was electric, the build up, the calm down and then it would kick off again and watch it all happening on LF
BB9 was an excellent series IMO.

I agree - and the sad thing is that Charley Uchaea made a meal of it - and did so in order to get her out.

It was fantastic viewing, although very uncomfortable at times. Although not a fan of his, Darnell storming into the Luxury Bedroom was one of my favourite moments ever "Nah f**k that, you don't spit in someone's face", with Luke immediately getting out the way and Kat standing on the Bed crying clutching a pillow.

Never get over how you had about 9 people comforting the gormless Jen over a smudged painting, while in the other room you had poor Mo, who'd been ganged up on, spat at and been accused of squaring up to a girl, being comforted by just Mario. And then Dennis returning to the Luxury Bedroom being treated like some sort of hero standing up for a wronged woman, best part of that is while everyone's gathered round him hugging him, Mikey on his own on the other side of the room has taken himself off to Bed.

I still think part of BB's longevity is down to the success of the Nasty Nick storyline - it was truly landmark reality TV that ensured the entire nation were hooked on BB. It almost feels like he was an actor hired to make sure this, at the time, untested format was successful.”

Absolutely. I always say there'd have been no Big Brother without Nick Bateman, he got the press and people interested and he made the show.

Emma BB5 apparently did the same, repeatedly, to Victor, though that was never screened and BB must have had a quiet word with her to warn her to desist.

She would have got a formal warning for that at least and after fight night Emma and Victor couldn't even be in the same room. She was isolated to the bedsit and I can see why she was ultimately removed.

Yes I agree - it had to be because she was a serious loose cannon.
