I don't mind having at least one family on the square that are comprised of a couple that are happily married with children all having the same father. I mean, it does happen. Keep them I say, especially now they've got rid of "sorry whitnaaay" and Shirley isn't annoying anymore.

They are utterly ghastly characters. I never thought the Ferriaras could be topped but all the Carters besides Aunt Babe are much, much worse.

Also, why are Carters still being pointlessly shoehorned into other peoples' storylines? Linda with Les tonight? Shirley with Dot's forthcoming story? It would be great if they were all written out - and none of this "sensational" nonsense, they cannot pull it off, just put them all in a taxi, please!

The worst one was how they were shoehorned into Peggy's scenes both during the anniversary week and then her final episode.

I suppose Shirley has some history with Dot as they were both very close to Heather.

It's a soap. Characters interacting is something of a necessity. Like members of other families never poke their noses into other people's business.

Shirley and Dot have had scenes together before. They were close after Heather died and Shirley supported Dot at Nick's wake (when he wasn't actually dead). Going back further than that Shirley came to Dot's aid when she was being harassed by a gang in 2008.

Brief scenes in both cases and relevant re: Peggy's history with the Vic. Although the anniversary one did feel more like a Children In Need sketch.

With regard to the Philth good luck with waiting for him to get any comeuppance.
