Agree with you all. Very strange and a waste of time
But it does show how vindictive Pam was. |

I suppose it did fill in a blank on why Paul's mum did do a runner. We knew his dad died but they were very hush hush on why his mother went AWOL. And it seems Pam may of played a part in her leaving and it wasn't entirely down to the woman herself. Maybe this will be followed up before Pam and Les leave?

She's probably lurking behind Ryan's tree. And now DTC's gone, she'll probably remain there for ever more.

Probably just to show up Pam as being less than a saint.

It is almost like they rushed Paul's death and abandoned the story. It would have been more heartbreaking for the Cokers if he had found out & turmoil in the family but for her to just disappear? Unless she is part of their exit storyline, she clearly had some issues in the past for the grandparents to get custody, even if Pam did hide her letters etc

It clearly swerved as a red herring tactic. Make us believe Paul had unfinished business/ more storylines to come so that we would believe that mistaken identity nonsense and actually think it was Ben that was killed.

Due to announcing Jonny Labey's departure, it failed miserably and we all guessed it was Paul who died. |

Who casted her? DTC or Sean O'Connor? |

Given the actress has a good background of acting behind her, I think that she was introduced with the intention that after Paul died she would come back and Pam doing what she did would be explored
But a change of bosses and the axing of the comers put the kibosh on that story |

There was no point of her being brought in. She shows up and then Paul dies. Tbh, I was hoping there would be a scene when Paul found out that she was his mum

Wasn't Paul axed because he revealed that Steven was retuning? Maybe the exit storyline was rushed.

I never liked DTC or anything he did. He should be ashamed.
It was absolutely pointless just like Billy and the missing post and Roxys dog! |

No, it was revealed that Paul was leaving months before he accidentally leaked Steven's return

I thought it was to show that Pam isn't a very nice person and as dishonest as the majority are on EE. A big thing was made out of her lying to Paul and her hiding all the letters from the Mum for years. She had even lied to Les over the letters. Les was shocked but then decided to support her.
I didn't watch after that but I assume Paul's death was to compound her guilt as she was going to tell him the truth about how his Mum had tried to keep in touch with him and not callously abandoned him. She was going to tell him after his night out with Ben, but Paul got killed. The whole mother thing was badly executed. Am I the only person who doesn't like Pam? |
