Good to have this back.

We get to see Penny's never before seen and seldom mentioned Mother and Brother.

No, but watched it earlier. Was ok - went from most of the jokes falling completely flat to laugh out loud funny - the line "so did you defile my mother?" cracked me up

Yes it is very hit and miss at the moment and still relying on relationship 'jokes' rather than situation or geek jokes.

I've a feeling this season will plod on as usual.

Yeah, most likely. There was a block of about half a dozen episodes last season that were just terrible - didn't laugh once i think and I was probably going to ditch the show all together until it suddenly picked up again.

I'm giving it three episodes. It's gone from a series I used to love, to something I'm beginning to loathe. Especially as most episodes now just seem to end suddenly with no denouement.

Incidentally, nice that parents of the three main characters are played by people who used to be in major sitcoms. Leonard's father - from Taxi, Sheldon's mother - from Roseanne, & Penny's mother - from Married with Children.

That genitals line is so Shamy lol. The hands off line to Alfred was funny as well.

That second ceremony was way better than the Vegas wedding Lenny had in Season 9. It was also nice to see more of Penny's family.

Episode 4 is huge, no spoilers but if you are giving it just three episodes I would advise you watch the fourth one at least.

Oh ok, I think I can stretch to that.

Have just watched S10E01 and it was kinda cr*p. No physics jokes, no Penny cleavage - I thought I was watching 8 Simple Rules -

someone speaks, someone speaks > laughter
someone speaks, someone speaks > laughter
sass your parents > snappy reply > laughter

etc

apparently they all get a million bucks an episode . . .

Let's hope it picks up.

They don't write it themselves though so can hardly blame them for that

I see it more as a mini soap now with a few humourous bits rather than a sitcom.

guess there are two camps, one think Sheldon is funny and the other feels he deserved a slap a number of times during this ep.

What, the show or Penny's cleavage?

It's been that way for a long time.

I laughed out loud a few times. It wasn't a bad episode. I think they tried to cram too many guest stars into 19 minutes.

Loved Bernadette shutting down all the snide remarks at the wedding.

By what sitcom logic was she able to hold a wedding service? Seems like it was just to give her something to do in the episode.

The same way the rest of the gang were able to hold Bernadette and Howard's wedding. Anyone can get ordained these days.

Was it an actual wedding or just a fake thing for the families and therefore it didn't need anyone official

You beat me to it. Anyone could've done it as it was just ... what the word for when you're just going thru the motions and it won't change diddly?

Watched it last night, I already feel this show has run its course, show is just boring now. What's funny though, is since I have been watching Malcolm In The Middle, you see the group of friends Malcolm has which are like a young version of TBBT. Man if they did like TBBT meets The Inbetweeners fusion, that would be hilarious I think.

What were they thinking when they wrote the characterisation for Penny's brother???

One of, if not the worst portrayals of a character I've ever seen.

I assumed he was 'playing a part' and was going to 'break character' at some point and show his real self, But he never obviously so he was just a terrible character and actor

Seemed to me that the character was just a bad version of the nice-but-dim Kenneth in 30 Rock played by the same actor as a kind of casting in-joke.

Never having seen the show, the in-joke was wasted on me
