Not for a while anyway.

We've just had men sucking each others faces of at 7:30pm, again, enough is enough.

No more new boyfriends for the now singularly unattached fellas.

I suppose Builders are the next variety ?

It was getting ridiculous, and totally out of all demographics.

Gays apparently make-up 1.5% of the population, not 10% or more !!!

Lets get back to basics shall we, please.

If some want a Gay soap, then let them have one, just not Corrie.

My prediction this thread will be popular.

It was one kissing scene. Do you get this worked up over straight kissing scenes?

Gay people are not 10 % of the Corrie population. They are still a minority percentage of the cast in all soaps including Corrie.

So it's OK for Straight couples then?

I get the impression from the person who opened the thread doesn't give a toss about what goes on in Corries and is just doing it for a reaction.

You could be right as some people don't quite like speech to be that free.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Criticising someone's opinion is not restricting their free speech.

Basics on a soap huh? So affairs, assault, blackmail, revenge, kidnapping, rape, murder but no gay people? Got it.

No it's not, but submitting a complaint with the intention of getting the thread taken down would be and that is what I was getting at in response to the post I quoted.

Except that homophobic posts are in violation of the terms and conditions and when a thread like this is started all it does is bring the resident homophobes out of the woodwork. It's only a matter of time before somebody posts something about gays being "disgusting" or immoral which is why, I suspect, the previous poster suggested this thread wouldn't last long.

Well if that is the case I am quite sure that the forum staff will deal with it without the need for any prompting.

I didn't mean me! I was jokingly suggesting that the thread will go the way of all such threads, ie starts out reasonably civilised and then descends quite quickly into nastiness, intolerance and personal insults, from both sides, and ends up being locked.

Believe it or not, the DS staff don't spend ALL their time trawling threads on this forum. The alert button is there for that very reason. Ironically enough, by saying that people shouldn't be sending alerts to the mod, you're the one that's restricting freedom of expression.

I didn't mean you either, and my response was kind of tongue in cheek (ooo matron) too, time will tell.

OP is obsessed with gay people in Corrie, plus numerous threads on Antony Cotton too.

Sorry I worded it incorrectly. You WANT to restrict freedom of expression by telling people they shouldn't be sending alerts to the mods.
