So far I have been with Vodafone, then Three on pay as you go. I switched to Three because its data coverage is better than Vodafone's and I use my iPhone to listen to sport on Five Live while travelling. I live in rural North Cornwall and work in London. In Cornwall I don't get a signal in my house or around it. That isn't such an issue, but I would like it if possible.

I am thinking of going contract to get an iPhone 6s and have been looking at all the operators and specifically their coverage. As far as I can tell EE comes out tops, but I wouldn't mind a few suggestions as to who it would be best to go with. For example, Three's customer service is terrible and my heart sinks every time I know I shall have to get in touch. Having said that I would stick with Three if and when. But suggestions would be welcome.

You really need to get some PAYG SIMs and test the different networks out at locations that are important to you. Coverage varies.

Good idea.

I know someone has suggested getting a sim from all four companies (or rather from the Three I haven't yet used) and testing which is best for my purposes, but I would rather like a little anecdotal evidence and opinion, for example, with customer service.

For example, I was looking at Giffgaff and was impressed by the prices, but then after more googling found complaints that although they were great to start with, the data service, especially speed, has tailed off quite a bit. And others were unhappy that if there's a problem the only way to resolve it is to go onto a forum, describe your problem, then wait for a response.

I've also been looking at Tesco and Asda. Well, first off Asda doesn't do 4G, and although that wouldn't be a deal breaker... Both (and Giffgaff) take the top three spots in the Which? guide to operators (a ranking arrived at by asking customers), but all three have virtual networks, using that of an established operator.

Really, it's just a little more info I'm after. At the end of the day I might just buy an iPhone6s outright (after selling my 5s and my daughter's now redundant 5s now she has upgraded and stick to pay as you go. But I would like info to go on before I decide.
