Paypal Help
Evening everyone, hope your well!
So last week my paypal was hacked and items were ordered from Canada, I noticed within hours (morning) and tried to change my password but each time the hacker got back control, so I phoned paypal and they put limitations on the account and started a case. There was a pending transaction that was able to be cancelled but the first one was complete. Within an hour they refunded that transaction. I kept an eye on what was happening and the hacker changed delivery details to their own so I reported this to the fraud team via the website, then I emailed the company they had ordered from and also got in touch with DHL as I had the email to say the tracking number and I actually managed with a lot of work to get the goods back to the company. My query comes here, when the company received the package they immediately refunded me, so in reality Ive ended up in profit from the fraudsters! Am I safe to receive the funds from the company? The way I see it is if I hadnt spent hours working to make sure the fraudster did not receive anything from hacking my paypal and email he would have received the goods and that would be the end of it. Im not asking for abuse but would really like to know where I stand if anyone has any facts on this matter please. |

Due to the fact it may result in a legal case if the hacker is tracked down, and due to the possibility there is other stuff you need to get remedied that you might not be aware of just yet, I would strongly advise you to make sure you're whiter than snow so that nobody can deny you're the honest victim in all this.
