Noooo, really? I found Abbey seriously annoying/false. I don't see that about Laura at all (time will tell though).

I think we're on for some brilliant fan warz, shock eliminations and wuz robbeds this year.
Can foresee a few tense nights on the spoiler thread! May have to splash out on a popcorn maker. ![]() I've already got a popcorn maker, so I'm good on that front.

Hi, Lou! I'm afraid that, yes, that's the vibe I'm getting from her from the very little I've seen of her so far (I had never seen her before Strictly, I've never watched anything she did). You know, part giggly, part annoying, part tearful, part mental. I just don't know what it is, can't quite put my finger on it, but she reminds me of the Clancys and Snowdons of yesteryear. But the jury's still out and time will tell, etc. I hope I'm wrong because I like Giovanni.
Same wavelength here. I was thinking the other day that with so many good people this year is going to be the year of "Wuzzrobbeds" and "SHOCK eliminations!". Cue endless arguments. Such fun! ![]() I've already got a popcorn maker, so I'm good on that front. ![]() I hope she proves you wrong (I mean that in a nice way!) because I do want the pairing to go well. My reservation has been too much talking as she is a self-confessed chatterbox .... we will see. Not long now. Eeek!

Soooo true!
Laura seems nice and I think is savvy enough to ignore the tabloid rubbish and carve her own path, but I somehow doubt she'll win. I see a quarter final/semi-final exit perhaps. I agree that Claudia has the best chance amongst the women. But then - I've not seen any of them dance yet!! I wonder if Aliona's support of Laura and Gio could be because I suspect he was one of the few pros she was on speaking terms with by the end of it! Perhaps she just wants to support her friend and fellow professional and is pleased he's partnered with a celebrity with potential? |

No Aliona's not the passive aggressive type.

![]() Posh and snorting the lines? LOL But seriously, it will depend on what the majority of the g&g fans will do after the break-up of that sincere relationship. Though Tristan must be fuming, the right combo of his two partners on the show. Do expect both Claudia and Tameka (unless her ballroom is bad) to finish ahead of her. And not being Abbey might be a negative in this case (and her mate Caroline was on in a much easier year). |

Good morning, Lou
. All I want is Laura to have fair chance. I can see some hypocrites creating problems for her. BIB - Totally agree with you, Laura is nothing like Abbey. If as I suspect you are referring to your old sparring partners over here in the GG thread I can happily report that the general consensus with Laura seems to be either apathy or 'let's see how she dances!!' I certainly don't get any sense of anybody over here wanting to 'create problems' & the general feeling all along has been sympathy for her as many of us felt the BBC were using her as a pawn in a rather silly & childish game to create tabloid headlines!! Personally I wish them nothing but the best for Strictly & I hope they develop a good dance chemistry, do well in the competition and that Laura & Georgia can keep their friendship, at the moment I have seen nothing to suggest that won't be the case!! As for Giovanni, there has been a few minor mutterings from some of our thread members but in general we are still very much the Georgia AND Giovanni thread & wish He & Laura Strictly success!! I can't of course speak for every single member but that is certainly the overriding impression I'm getting!! If your comments were not referring to us please disregard all of this!!

I agree. I know she didn't get along with Brendan and from what I have heard the Cliftons but when I saw her on the tour she seemed to get along with Giovanni, Gleb and Aljaz really well.
Maybe she is just being a supportive friend, nothing else. At this stage no one knows the winner ![]() |

My mate who watches every year and then trundles off around Christmas Special time to do other stuff didn't even realise they had been together let alone broke up.

I think the Brendan Issue was because he continued to use her picture to promote his dance tour when she wasn't involved in it any more? Weren't solicitors activated?

I think you're right - most viewers won't know or care. I'm sure any G and G Shippers who don't like it will soon be replaced in voting terms by Lovanni Shippers, convinced they are love's next young dream

It's what he's worked for since he was a child. Some fan support that is.I see Laura and Giovanni as having a chance of being finalists. |

I don't understand Shipping a pro dancer and then being critical of him when he dances with someone else. It's his job

Think that the male celebs are too strong this year, so unless Claudia disappoints it is unlikely that any of the other female celebs will be there in the final. But I do think that she (Laura) will outlast Daisy, as I do think she will score quite a bit higher with the judges. |

Yesterday more stupid comments about the official photo. It's my opinion that some people are not going to let Giovanni enjoy this series and Laura will suffer because of it. I hope Giovanni is strong enough to ignore these people, who can't accept that he is a dancer and he is just doing his job. |

BIB - I have only visited the G&G thread once, long time ago. No, I was not referring posters from your thread.

However she ends up being able to dance and however she comes across through ITT and the silly VT's she does seem to be a fan of the show and genuinely delighted to be part of it - it's a one off experience that she shouldn't have blighted just because a few people take exception to who she is paired with and who will, no doubt, be doing the job he is actually paid for to the best of his ability. Most odd

I think that's the difference between a Shipper and a fan. Shippers 'ship' the couple rather than the pro, so when the pro is in a new couple it's a threat to 'their' couple as they might have better chemistry or be a better dancer or whatever. A fan of the pro would just be happy they had a good partner and support them. It's difficult if you get into a romance in your first year as a pro - I think future series are easier if you have had the chance to build up a fan base on your own first which isn't linked to that relationship.
It's his friendship and professional partnership with Joanne and then their dances at the Strictly Prom which caught my attention and Ied me to change my mind about him. They are incredible dancing together and I loved the choreo. I also like how he comes across in the training clips with Laura. I really like her and her love of Strictly as a show so want to see them do well. Hopefully they'll have good music choices which will inspire Giovanni with choreo. Quote:
Think the people on the g&g thread will be tested by the (future) pieces in the (on-line) papers.

But I do think that she (Laura) will outlast Daisy, as I do think she will score quite a bit higher with the judges. I'm supporting Daisy too and know she and Laura won't both make the final but hope they may individually have a chance. I loved Claudia and AJ's First Steps and my girls are supporting her so I hope they do well. Think viewers will love them and she was awesome on the first day, had the Cha Cha technique down already. Ore's my early pick from the men

I had put Laura and Giovanni among my 4 choices for Finalists, but I also think Daisy, Ore, Robbie, Claudia, Louise, Danny, Will, Anastacia, and maybe even Greg, Melvin and Tameka have a chance.
IMO it looks like the strongest field of celebs ever ( by some distance). There should be a lot of happy pros this year, though a lot of good dancers are not going to get to the final. ![]() ![]() But I agree- it's fabulously open at this stage; it'll be interesting to see if that leads to increased viewing figures. |

I very much do hope that Giovanni enjoys this series - and I'm a poster on the GG thread. There are a variety of views there! I don't imagine I'll be a particular supporter of theirs, but I have no problem with them at all. I don't always have a favourite and in the few years that I have had favourites, it takes a while for me to decide who it is!
And I totally agree that the general viewer wouldn't give a flying fig (or even know) that he was with and then split up with Georgia. It won't make a blind bit of difference to their chances. I suspect that in what is looking like a very strong year, they might not win it, but I may be wrong - and I certainly think and hope that they go far. I think Will will be hard to beat. But then, I've not seen anyone dance yet, so could be way off the mark! |
