Love it- so that's just Ed, Lesley and Naga not seeing Blackpool then

But I agree- it's fabulously open at this stage; it'll be interesting to see if that leads to increased viewing figures.
It's a difficult year to be an honest beginner... I really wish they'd extend the weeks at the beginning where contestants can't be voted out so that everyone gets a chance to be immersed in it and to learn something

Hi, Lou! I'm afraid that, yes, that's the vibe I'm getting from her from the very little I've seen of her so far (I had never seen her before Strictly, I've never watched anything she did). You know, part giggly, part annoying, part tearful, part mental. I just don't know what it is, can't quite put my finger on it, but she reminds me of the Clancys and Snowdons of yesteryear. But the jury's still out and time will tell, etc. I hope I'm wrong because I like Giovanni.
Funny- I get almost the total opposite vibe off Laura- the learned and honed matey bon hommie and smooth delivery of the professional presenter a la Susanna Reid, all barely hiding a very self-disciplined, controlled, ambitious and competitive spirit. And that's not meant as a criticism.

As much as I'd like Laura to come out triumphant, I'm unconvinced.

Someone mentioned that she did tap - in which case I'd say she has a very strong chance. However, all I can find is that she did a summer of Irish dancing. Still, with enough natural talent, I think she's probably guaranteed semis.

Edit - I say this because this year we have a few with experience, and a couple of pretty big names/signings.

I really hope not, because that would be super mean.
However she ends up being able to dance and however she comes across through ITT and the silly VT's she does seem to be a fan of the show and genuinely delighted to be part of it - it's a one off experience that she shouldn't have blighted just because a few people take exception to who she is paired with and who will, no doubt, be doing the job he is actually paid for to the best of his ability. Most odd
Totally agree, Aggs I hope Giovanni is strong enough and does choreograph some amazing moves for Laura. Like you said, one off experience and she deserves a chance to shine.

True, Laura is nothing like Abbey.

It's just a bit rude to try and sideline her in her own experience, really.

I might end up wanting to tear my ears off if she turns out to be as much of a chatterbox as she says she is - but that will be down to her - nothing else

BIB- I didn't mean sideline, what I meant was that she is young and hope he does choreograph some sexy moves.

I think aggs meant 'fans' of Giovanni are trying to sideline Laura, not you Sarah

I know you didn't mean me, no need to apologize.
I am just worried that Gio might be a bit conservative in his choreo dept and I want him to go all out and show case the sexy Laura and my darling Mick.

That's her dogs name isn't it? Do you mean that you want him to include the dog in the dances? I mean in the Foxtrot last year he dressed in a Beast outfit for the VT perhaps he will go the whole hog and dance in a dog outfit.

No No, I want them to do well. I just want Mick in the training room, so we will get to see in the training VT. It will be funny to see Gio in a dog outfit playing with Mick in the training room.

Seriously if I was Gio I would ban the dog, yes he's cute, but Laura does seem to work as well as doing Strictly and they only have so many hours in a day.

BIB - I have only visited the G&G thread once, long time ago. No, I was not referring posters from your thread.

I have seen some stupid negative comments on Twitter, really ridiculous.
Yesterday more stupid comments about the official photo. It's my opinion that some people are not going to let Giovanni enjoy this series and Laura will suffer because of it.

I hope Giovanni is strong enough to ignore these people, who can't accept that he is a dancer and he is just doing his job.
Okay, fair enough & for the record those same tweets have been universally condemned over here too!!
Totally unnecessary & helpful to no one!!
Hopefully you are right here & people, Giovanni & Laura included treat them with the contempt they deserve!!

I think it's a good choice of song for a cha cha. No elimination this week, so no worries. Such a good line-up this year and even wrong choice of song could send couples to the bottom of the leader board.

some amazing stuff for Laura. Fans can be negative, but it's up to Giovanni to make sure that Laura gets a fair chance to showcase all her sexy moves. I hope he is strong enough.

I doubt Mick's there for long and when he is if he's well trained and happy to watch it won't be a problem. Giovanni seems fond of him.
