There are scads of viewers who honestly think the judges' audition is the first time contestants make contact with the show. They can't grasp that everyone, even the awful acts, are seen 3, 4, 5 times before they get near Simon and company.

surely everyone knows that apart from the live shows everything else is pre recorded
