Surely she still isn't stuck up a tree in Peru?

She is running a drug cartel in Peru. She will return to Corrie in 2017 bringing her new drug culture to the street, she will rent out the penthouse at Victoria court and kick Norris and Sean out of her house and turn it into her trap house. She will get several all the residents hooked on drugs and will be running the streets. Phelan will far for Weatherfield's new drug lord and they will rule the street together.

Maybe she'll return with Spider esp. now Toyah is returning. She and Spider got on really well. Do think its strange there hasnt been an update on her return.

They must be filming Novembers episodes at the moment so nothing looking likely this year.

The drug cartel didn't work out, her druglord Peruvian husband known to his enemies and the families of his victims as 'El Pueblo Diablo' was gunned down by a corrupt law enforcement squad. Emily tried to consolidate power and keep control of the business through uncompromising violence and sheer force of will, ordering several public executions of both criminal rivals and public officials. Anyone who stood in her way was either bought or killed.

Though she managed to bring everyone into line through fear for a while, eventually the other cartel bosses grew tired of kicking vast amounts of money up to Emily every week. All of the soldiers still loyal to her operation were either bribed or executed. Her labs were burned, her drug stockpiles seized, and her distribution network cut off.

Several weeks ago the cartel sent several cars of heavily armed men to Emily's last known safehouse, in an attempt to sort the problem once and for all. She took out 7 of them with her bare hands before escaping.

No one has seen her since, but there are rumours that an old Englishwoman is roaming the highland villages of the Peruvian Andes busking and selling her body to survive.

Thanks.

I heard that Pablo Escobar's hippos have offered her a place to stay in exchange for some babysitting.

They say that Emily was the only person who made Escobar nervous.

El Chapo allowed himself to be caught when he heard Emily and her bag of pencils from Norris was in the same continent as him.

I'm pretty sure she has left for good - her departure scenes seemed quite substantial, and Eileen Derbyshire is notoriously private, so she wouldn't want any kind of fuss - I'm sure she would just prefer to fade into the background with a really low key departure - with the minimum of fuss and press attention

She is probs on a long maternity leave. The actresses on Corrie are always getting pregnant.

Every time I think of her going to Peru it reminds me of either Paddington Bear or Phoebe's grandma song in Friends. I think she'll decide to stay there and in a few years will peacefully expire.

I doubt it, I'm sure Corrie can still announce that Emily has been written out for good if she had indeed chosen to quit, rather than just leave viewers in the lurch.

I guess I should pipe up here - I had a letter published in the Radio Times a month or so ago asking after Emily's whereabouts, and they printed a reply from a Corrie spokesperson saying they're looking forward to welcoming her back soon. (I was surprised nobody on here spotted the letter at the time, to be honest, bearing in mind all the Emily speculation )

Something has to happen. Being the longest serving female they can't jhust rub her out.

I reckon she's left and won't be back. I'm guessing we'll see her in the Jungle this November then...

Unless Emily returns I can't see Coronation Street lasting much longer. She really made the show. Her presence has been missed.

Having met her in real life I found her not to be that nice, quite up herself in fact. Each to their own of course.
