Is there a point to Scott? (Hollyoaks)

That ill-begotten romance with JP is over. He has no blood family members currently in the village. He's not connected with any of the huge stories going on. Why is he still around? Other characters that could have made more of a contribution were axed.

No. Probably the worst character to ever grace Hollyoaks, and that's saying something!

Dreadful.

If the opening credits are any indication, it looks like he'll be teaming up with Lisa. Two dreadful credits as partners in crime. The mind boggles.

Lisa? Has he ever even spoken to her?

I wouldn't read too much into the credits with Lisa. In the same opening titles, Joe shares his scene with Nathan...and there's no indication that they're going to become pals. They've barely interacted as well.

As for Scott, he seems more like a recurring character these days. He was becoming a bit more tolerable when he was with John Paul, but with them split up it's hard to see what to do with him. He's like HO's answer to Sean Tully but even worse. With that gobby cow Sinead long gone and Diane away for a bit there's literally no one connected to him in the village. He needs to go.

I hated him from the beginning he encompases all the worst stereotypes about gay people and is bloody annoying. He really was another reason I began to watch the show less and less.

You have a point about the credits. Aren't Diego, Mac and Dirk in the same shot, but they're not exactly bosom buddies, so you never know.

Hated him at first, but I've warmed to him since. His relationship with John Paul was endearing!

I use to despie him but now I actually don't mind Scott.

My answer is no there is no point to him!

They have toned him down somewhat so the character is more tolerable when he first started but they need to do something with him.

You have a short memory! There's been far worse.

He'll probably be gone in the next few months. He's one of those characters the show can afford to lose.

Wasn't there some big family secret with Scott and Diane? I remember him poisoning her cuz he though she abandoned him and then there was a hint that she had an affair with his dad or something. I Could be wrong but I think that is what happened. Maybe all that stuff will pick up once Diane returns from maternity leave.

I wouldn't be so sure that him and JP are over just yet.
James keeps JP at an arms length so there is always room for Scoot to scoop in when JP is whining into his pillow yet again.
Anything to keep the drama going....

I can't see it myself. That scene between them in the hospital seemed so final. It was proper closure. It's possible that JP may see someone else besides james, but I can't see it being Scott.

Is there any point to anyone? I never understand that criticism, it makes no sense. I like Scott, he reminds me of a lot of people I know

Yes there is a point to other characters who have interesting story lines, who have depth and layers to them instead of just being a poor comic relief sum of tired cliches.

The only point I can see for Scott to be in the show right now is for some crazed fan called Tamara on Twitter to go mental over him!

Don't get me wrong Ross is great to meet, lovely guy and yeah chances are he will be leaving soon as he has now set up his own drama company so will most likely want to focus on that
