I like the storyline and think it is consistent with the character. He always seemed a bit shifty to me.

Muslim men are allowed to have more than one wife, so I guess its kind of realistic. Would be interesting to see if Corrie go down that route and explore it

You're backtracking now you said "Tracy would sell her own daughter" you didn't know that she did you probably looked it up knowing you got it wrong.

I think it's time for you to brush up on your manners and common courtesy. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there's anything to explore. Polygamy is illegal in this country and clearly the Nazirs don't subscribe to it either or there would have been no reason for shifty Sharif to have kept it as his dirty little secret for 7 years.

I hope he doesn't go through with it.. I thought sheriff was a man of principles.

Now we are supposed to believe he's been carrying on this horrible sleazy affair outside of his marriage for the last seven bloody years & now just to add to the family sleaze ”

Exactly! It's very annoying that Sharif went off on one about his daughter, and also Leanne and his son.

I don't know about Muslim men being allowed to have more than one wife, (maybe they are!) but this is nothing to do with it really, as this is a secret, sordid affair.

Thing is though, in some cultures (and Islam is one from what I have seen) the women will have some nasty things happening to them if they stray or cheat, and don't obey, but the men are allowed to do what they want...including sleeping with other women.

May go some way to explaining why Sharif has cheated for so long, and has sex with women outside his marriage, but thinks it's abhorrent for any woman to do it. He probably can't see himself as doing anything wrong.

All that said, this is a pathetic storyline.

I feel the same way. It seems like the scriptwriters struggle to write properly for Asian characters mostly focusing on their ethnicity and not making them just regular folk without plots about arranged marriages and supposedly devout Muslim men cheating on their wives with some bit on the side. I liked Sharif before this affair storyline but bringing the smug rather bitchy mistress in hasn't done him any favours in my opinion.

I'm not sure how I feel about the storyline. On the one hand I had started to warm to them as a couple. However, I think it's quite good the way it is actually a shock that he has this hidden side. He's been having an affair for years and has managed to keep it hidden, so it follows that he wouldn't be exactly obvious whilst he's going about it!

This Sharif cheating story is so ****ing random! It's like they thought up a affair story, put the names of all the Coro blokes in a hat, and picked his name out at random!

Sharif doesn't come across like that sort of bloke at all and now we're meant to believe he's been shagging some other woman for yrs? Yeah right! I like the Nazirs but I can't imagine Sharif being a cheating bastard, it seems so forced

Probably not far from the truth to be honest. Corrie are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Another one is Beth suddenly being a bigamist and married to Craig's father all this time. Looks like they are working their way round ruining all the couples in the show, no doubt Sally and Tim are the producer's next targets. Can't imagine what crap could beat this.

I know she's not been there long but i think it's time for this new boss to go!

Yeah I can't believe the crap she's pulled out neither. I don't believe Beth is a bigamist, don't believe Sharif is a cheat and don't believe Roy is happy with Cathy

The only thing I believe is David wanting to kill Clayton, and I hope he does!

Sharif may well decide to confess to Yasmeen but then chicken out of doing so.

My fault.

It dawned on me afterwards that you meant Alya, but it was too late for me to change the post.

Sharif Nazir came into the show as the head of the family. When they became more prominent on screen again they switched the roles and suddenly he became hen pecked and Yasneem Nazir was the head of the family.

The Nazir couple haven't had the whole cheating thing which was nice but the writers are so damn lazy and think we want all couples to cheat. It is predictable and lazy writing. The only one I have time for is Zeedan Nazir.

When Alya figured out Sharif's secret, he had egg on his face.

I have a different view. A great many affairs go on for years but soaps can't feature them in full as they would get boring after a while. The only way to do it is the way Corrie did - take a new-ish character who we're still getting to know and has been married for years and have it come as a surprise to the audience.

I don't like the thought of Alya blackmailing them but I'll wait and see what actually happens before commenting.

Both parties are not without some blame here. NDD was also rude. Sorry NDD!

But overall, it was nothing.

As for this SL, does anyone really care?

They are such a boring family, even this seedy affair sl hasn't added any interest to the family.

That scene with Alya and Sharif was terribly acted. Especially by Sharif. He was shockingly bad.
