If he is cleared then it will seem like more of a publicity stunt. If he isnt however....

Interesting that the BBC headline is "Eggheads Panellist" not Former panellist. although it states in the article that he has left the program you would have thought it would be in the headline for the BBC to somewhat distance themselves from him.

Though not maybe for an egoist who thinks that they are insulated from the consequences of their actions and think telling the story will add an aspect of the dangerous and the troubled to their public profile.

How the hell did that get past the lawyers and publisher with no one noticing, surely someone should have said it's probably best not to include that in the book ?

And there was me thinking the whole thing was made up as some lame publicity stunt to promote his book!

Yeah - it was a crap show - but even worse than that it gave us the dreaded Lisa. This was her only 'qualification' for being an egghead - other quizzes she has appeared on she's been average at best.

He'd have to be very unlucky for it all to match up... Very unlucky indeed

he should have named the book 'no comment' with two hundred empty pages

And if he mentioned 1987 instead of 1988, he would have gotten away with it (his publicist was probably too lazy to look up the (current) Dutch law articles).

Just watching "Make me an Egghead".

CJ De Mooi's proved that the initiation ritual to become one is pretty extreme. Daphne had to shoot a tramp with a rifle.

That's only logical though - he's said in his book that he pushed a homeless man into a river, but the police obviously don't know which one it might be.

That pipsqueak hardly disarmed someone. Dutch people are on average twice his size, he would have been wrung out like a damp rag.

I'll tell you something else as well, I've lived in the Netherlands for over 15 years. I worked for homeless hostels in Amsterdam and Utrecht for two years and even though homeless people mither you a lot, the number of knife-carrying homeless drug-addicts can be counted on one hand.

I think he is a liar who has landed himself in hot water with his stories.
