I think they will - SOC won't want to risk alienating the viewers by ignoring today's biggest talking point.

Who could mention it? I bet Billy is an Eggheads fan, though I wouldn't discount Shirley.

They better had, some things NEED to be mentioned on EE.

Anyway didn't Team Queen Vic once take part in Eggheads? I remember CJ being absolutely fewmin' cos Philth, Dot and Billy won with ease.

Linda is distraught after finding out her favourite egghead has been arrested. To cheer her up Mick organizes a karaoke party.

Why the daft name CJ de Mooi, what's wrong with his proper name James Connagh, but then he always came across as a pretentious prick.

The Square is populated by killers so it could make for awkward conversation.

It is Dutch for 'Pretty One'. Met him at a quiz event in Altincham a few years back.

Lol, I don't watch EE but even I can appreciate, just from what I see on DS about the Carters, how very funny this post is.

Why would East Enders mention that an egg head had been arrested for murder

Am still waiting for Billy and Mick to mention the West Ham move to the new Stadium.

Could it be that nobody has mentioned it to the writers

What 'special scenes' have they actually done to acknowledge something.

I can think of:

Queen mothers death,
Michael Jacksons death
Birth of Princess Charlotte.

I am sure theres more but I'm horribly forgetful

When they hear about it they could roll their eyes in disbelief, just like CJ did every time a contestant didn't know the answer to a question or got it wrong.

Jennifer and Brad were big fans of EE back in the day. Signed a petition to keep it on BBC America or summin.....

Every time something happens in the world a thread arises as you whether it should be referenced in EE.

Diana's death? Can't remember, just seems like the kind of thing they might mention.

Not sure they'll have time to include CJ's arrest, as they've been busy shoehorning in a mention of Mary Berry leaving Bake-Off.

The England football team's woes have been brought up a few times.
