Put them onto your memory card in your phone then transfer to the tablets device memory or send via blue tooth.

I was wondering if it would be quicker to use a otg USB stick but some of the files are 1.5gb in size, transferring via Bluetooth could take an age? Maybe would it be possible to transfer by wifi?

SuperBeam.

It's a WiFi Direct App. It's not free, but there's a 14 day trial version, but then it's only about £1.50. for the full version

Bubble uPNP is a DNLA app which will do what you want. Run it as a server on your phone and as a client on your tablet. It will also work with Chromecast and other compatible devices.

I'd have a wild guess it's called SuperBeam.
