Birds Instant Whip was a favourite in our house. Much nicer than Angel Delight.

One of my Mum's 'trendy' dishes in the 1970s was home made trifle........with sponges covered in jelly, let it set, then a layer of thick custard and some cream on top with chocolate sprinkles

Seemed very adventurous at the time !
We have that every Xmas, it's my favourite dessert!
Every Christmas. The powder custard right? Done with milk. In the large circular cardboard container with red top? Usually I don't have chocolate sprinkles over the top of the layer of thick cream but the almond cherries deep into the sponge/jelly. Nom nom nom!

Mums fish pie. It always had bones in it.
Using the fish pie mix from Morrison's now and it's lovely.

peanut butter & mayonnaise sandwiches.

Had these all the time when I was a nipper, but they sound a bit sickening to me now.

Had a phase of ham and coleslaw sandwiches when I was a kid. Never again.

Chef's Square Shaped Soups...(altogether now if you're old enough)!
A powdered soup that you had to whisk for ages to make sure that you didn't bite into a bit that hadn't been dissolved into the hot water.

Ugh! It was one or the other. Never both. Mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken or battered chicken and maybe a bit of mild cheese, nom nom nom. Or mayonnaise with tuna.

Peanut butter on cream crackers or oatcakes.
