Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton dancing the Rumba to ‘Always on My Mind’ (Michael Bublé)

Craig – 8
Darcey – 8
Len – 8
Bruno – 9
Total: 33

I made my feelings on the day trip VTs clear last weekend, but this one really was taking the piss.

Jamie:
Aside from not being able to stop giggling at the fact that the tiny Eiffel Tower made you look like two dancing giants stomping their way around Paris, this was great! Your lines were beautiful as ever, there was a lovely romantic feel to the dance and that backwards drop in the middle was just stunning. Hip action was definitely lacking, and it could've made more of a lasting impression for sure, but for what it was, I very much enjoyed watching it.

Our second pairing in a row to…

MATCH THEIR SCORE

From Paris to Texas, it’s Ed and Katya…

Ed Balls and Katya Jones dancing the American Smooth to ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo’ (Tony Christie)

Craig – 2
Darcey – 6
Len – 6
Bruno – 4
Total: 18

As is the way, expect Ed to be shunted out when Craig gives him some faint praise and doesn’t undermark for effect.

I thought this wasn't that bad Ed! The lift at the end was hilariously bad but I've seen worse American Smooths.

It seems things really can only get better when it comes to this couple…

TWO MARKS FEWER

Looking to impress following their series-high Jive, Ore and Joanne…

Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton dancing the Waltz to ‘I Will Always Love You’ (Claudia Streza)

Craig – 9
Darcey – 9
Len – 9
Bruno – 9
Total: 36

They could have opted for the Whitney version (which is, as far as I can tell, exactly the same), but what this series really needed was another Claudia.

I never approve of breaking hold half way through a Waltz, no matter how musical it is. Also keep your shoulders under control. Otherwise, nice flow and a pleasant routine.

A considerable dose of love there, but not quite as much as from the Strictly judges…

THREE MARKS FEWER

With the only Charleston of the night, Daisy and Aljaž…

Craig – 8
Darcey – 8

Bruno – 8

After two Charlestons appearing in the bottom two in a row, I might have start reconsidering my opinion that it’s a free-pass, cakewalk dance…

I really loved the concept for this dance - it was very risky to put so much emphasis on synchronicity not just at the start but throughout the whole dance, but it paid off in my eyes. Your movements were a bit heavy and clunky during the kick-sections (which does make me a tad concerned for your Jive), but other than that, I really, really enjoyed it.

It might not have been such joyful news last night, but they are the first couple tonight to improve by…

TWO MARKS MORE

In case you’ve missed the frequent signposts Danny and Oti had a particularly hard dance this round…

Were our judges suitably impressed with the first BlokeRumba™ of the series?

The hip action was very good and overall it was a brilliant dance, but sometimes you gave it a bit too much. Other than that, it was excellent.

That is enough to, once again, plonk them right on top of the Our Way leaderboard…

ONE MARK MORE

Closing the show were Claudia and AJ…

Claudia Fragapane and AJ Pritchard dancing the Samba to ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ (Candi Staton)

Craig – 8
Darcey – 7
Len – 8
Bruno – 9

This song has been used on the show for a Samba before, but I wouldn’t bet against it being chosen as the first suitable song on YouTube with ‘young’ in the title…

Wow! That was one fast performance! There was lots of content in there and most of that content was executed quite well! However, due to the speed of the dance, you seemed to be rushing around a bit and you seemed to be struggling to keep up with AJ at times. But, what a great performance to end the show with!

They went a slightly different way about it, but it means that they…

Our Way Leaderboard
1st - Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse – 36 (+1)
2nd - Daisy Lowe and Aljaž Škorjanec – 34 (+2)
3rd - Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton – 33 (-)

A fairly static leaderboard this weekend with the men doing most of the wriggling around, as ever. Daisy, in spite of her bottom-two appearance, manages a surge up the leaderboard, but will it be enough to keep her out of this bottom two?

LINES HAVE NOW OPENED!

Please rank the contestants from 1-10 (1 for least favourite, 10 for favourite) and PM those votes to me. The results will be at 8pm tomorrow. See you then.
