I thought I gave you both comments and scores?
Ever thought that Izzie was referring to someone other than yourself? Maybe?

I wasn't meaning it like that, I just wanted to check she got them.

You did, but I wasn't referring to you.
Ok.

Last night was the annual Halloween celebration of the series, which has a tendency to throw up a few memorable performances each year…whether for the right reasons or not.

It was time for the ladies to snatch the limelight as Claudia and Laura found themselves at the top of the leaderboard with straight runs of nines from the Strictly judges. Ore and Danny took the opposite path, finding themselves out of favour with the judges (well, except for Ore with those two inexplicable nines anyway…). Ed also closed the show and managed to avoid being bottom. Judging them are:

East (StrictlyEastend)
Nicolas (NicPlays)
Queenie (dancing.queen)
Ross (Monsieur23)

(Some dances have two comments due to Queenie offering to step in for Nicolas and me not wanting to let her efforts go to waste.)

Opening the show were Louise and Kevin…

Apart from Kevin looking like he'd just been munching on a used tampon it was very nice to look at. I hate Charlestons done in trainers but you managed to do well. Your husband didn't look best pleased in the audience bless him. You're a good dancer but every week it's like you're holding back, if you'd have only gone for it a bit more then it'd have given the dance the wow factor it was missing.

(That 'used tampon' imagery though.) As ever stuck in the low thirties with the Our Way panel…

THREE MARKS FEWER

Second in the running were Robert and Oksana…

I’m not quite sure who decided to mash that theme with that dance and that song, but I’m forever grateful to them.

The campest Paso ever, it needed a bit more aggression and your footwork wasn't that great, but overall great.

Despite missing out on matching their score, that is the first time they’ve broken the 30 barrier here too…

TWO MARKS FEWER

With the task of following that were Claudia and AJ…

Will that get a black mark from our judges, or was it simply magic?

Well, Claudia, the power that be had it in for you this week, with a terrible song, low budget outfits (barely even Halloweeny) and THAT height difference. But alas, you pulled through. It was a little mix () of charming steps and pretty good technique which made for a great routine. But please, use your black magic to make whoever picks the songs spontaneously combust.
Queenie: AJ's got a nice bottom. Operation Yewtree will be banging on my door now because he looks about 15. The odds were stacked against you with the producers' inability to give you a song released before 2012 but magically (see what I did there) you managed to produce a graceful and well performed routine.

That gives them their highest Our Way score since their Charleston!

A very good effort Anastacia, it just needed a bit more energy in the technique but good overall.

A split amongst the panel there, but not the greatest of differences…

Halloween + Foxtrot really gives a new meaning to ‘dance of death’.

I mean... Strictly Come Bondage was ever going to work out well, was it? Look in Fred and Ginge's filmography and you won't see anything that vaugely resembles Fifty Shades Of Grey. Unless you look in their private collection and then it might be a different story. Anyway, you did well considering. Yes, there were mistakes but the rest was brilliantly performed. Leave the ties in the bedroom from now on.

That’s only the second week that Danny won’t top the Our Way leaderboard…

ONE MARK LESS

With their comeback dance, Laura and Giovanni…

*mentally adds to list of dances I want to see again in the Final* Laura, if you weren't still injured, I can guarantee this would be a 10. There were just a few moments where I could see the concentration, but I know that's because, well, you're still in pain, so I'm willing to be lenient with that. It was sharp, staccato, and full of content; best dance of the night.

I think I had too much candy, because that dance was a bit too crazy. Hardly any Charleston content, slightly out of time, looking like Lenny Henry, nope, hated it. You might want candy. I want to erase that from my mind.
Queenie: I must have been on the Halloween punch because I almost felt sorry for you. Not only were you dressed as the lovechild of Lenny Henry and a werewolf, you had to perform a Charleston to a song that didn't resemble one and give the audience their midshow snack. An extra point for nearly dropping Joanne. It'd have been a ten if you did.

That’s a bit more like it…

No, it wasn’t really a Rumba but the music didn’t allow for an authentic one anyway and, more importantly, I frigging loved it.

Well this was all sorts of shades of wrong. A soft, romantic Rumba could've salvaged something Rumba-esque from you, Greg, but this music and theme damned you. Why not use the acoustic version? Anyway, you were a bit stiff at times, but you acted about as well as I imagine you could, so... well done for that?

Not too bad all things considered…

I wish they’d committed to a Kill Bill routine. I can think of quite a few on this show I wouldn’t mind seeing The Bride enact her revenge on.

Daisy, despite lovely make up and outfits, you weren't as great as I had hoped. You seem to struggle with the fierceness and sharpness of the dance, something didn't click. Your highest is 33, and your lowest is 30, so you're staying in the same place all the time. You need to come out and wow us. Really wow us (with your dancing, not your various other skills )
Queenie: Aljaz's Paso Doble's have never been brilliant and this was no different sadly. What you were taught to do you did well so well done for that. Despite what the papers say I see absolutely no connection between the two of you. It's Aljaz. He's fit. How can you not have chemistry?

Almost like there’s no point running this show at all…

Finally, Ed and Katya…
