Thanks Ash. That gives Ore and Joanne a clear lead as we go to our next judge...

CALLUM, who would you like to save and why?

(If anybody is online, watching would like to chuck a vote in go ahead because I think we're going to be down at least one.)

Saving Laura. She was better in the DO. Also, cuz I can

The battle of the party dances here, it was far from being both of your best routines but also a long way from your worst. I have to base this on who I think improved the most in the dance off and who I enjoyed watching more and because of that, I'm making this a lot harder by saving Laura & Giovanni

Well technically it's supposed to be based on the dance, with an explanation covering that...but sure why not?

Thanks to Nicolas and Callum there.

That takes us to a tie which will, as ever be resolved by the power of random.org.

Tonight's head judge is as decided by random.org is...me. Crazy with power I am.

That means that the couple leaving us is...

LAURA WHITMORE & GIOVANNI PERNICE

I think that missed week (with the one non-party Latin dance that they had) damaged this couple beyond repair. Sure, they'd been in the bottom two already but after avoiding repeating the feat in the death slot with their Quickstep, I think the Jive before last weekend's Tango would have solidified their position in the show somewhat.

Initially I thought she'd do a Flack and win so a part of me is pleased she's out already. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to give up the day job. In fact she could probably fly over to Australia and host the I'm A Celeb spin off again now she's out.

How predictable where she had a low score and was destined to be out!

I think it was always a bit of a non-starter once the Strictly producer's eyes lit up at the prospect of 'JEALOUS GEORGIA!' headlines.

I would've saved Ore too for the record because technically he was far superior to Laura and outperformed her in the dance off.

I can't quite recall seeing a dance off on here EXACTLY the same as Strictly!

Hello and welcome to Round Eight!

We’re all aboard the Blackpool Express this week which apparently means no trips to visit the ice caps before they melt to get in the mood for the Viennese Waltz. It’s almost worth the relentless ‘how much would it mean to you to get to Blackpool?’ push.

Picking over this week’s events are:

Andrew (dennisboy)
Izzie (IzzieStar)
Jamie (DingDong08)
Luke (StigOfTheKrump)

Opening last night’s show were Daisy and Aljaž…
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Daisy Lowe and Aljaž Škorjanec dancing the Salsa to ‘Groove is in the Heart’ (Deee-Lite)

Craig – 7
Darcey – 8
Len – 8
Bruno – 8
Total: 31

Did our judges take that groove to their hearts?
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Andrew – 8
Izzie – 7
Jamie – 7
Luke – 7
Total: 29

Luke:
Groove may be in the heart, but it didn't particularly translate to the rest of your body, Daisy. There were some very good bits indeed, don't get me wrong, but they tended to be overshadowed by awkward transitions or bits in which you stumbled around the floor like Darcey at the wrap party. You needed a killer comeback, and unfortunately, this wasn't it. Oh, and Aljaz - I do love you, but even Ed Balls' Salsa had more Salsa in it than this did. Think on that.

‘Couldn’t ask for another…’ will Daisy be getting another stab at that dance anyway?

TWO MARKS FEWER

Greg and Natalie were the next couple to take to the floor…
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Greg Rutherford and Natalie Lowe dancing the Paso Doble to ‘Tamacun’ (Rodrigo y Gabriela)

Craig – 7
Darcey – 8
Len – 8
Bruno – 8
Total: 31

Even Greg’s getting in on the arse appreciation now! (/hiding his free arm)
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Andrew – 7
Izzie – 7
Jamie – 7
Luke – 7
Total: 28

Andrew:
It seemed a bit stompy for me and it didn't really have the mood of a Paso Doble, I'm afraid. The music didn't help. It wasn't bad, but it was disappointing for this stage of the competition.

‘Disappointing for this stage of the competition’, and a disappointing shift to reflect that…

THREE MARKS FEWER

Onto the next couple, Robert and Oksana…
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Robert Rinder and Oksana Platero dancing the Foxtrot to 'You Make Me Feel So Young' (Harry Connick Jnr)

Craig – 7
Darcey – 9
Len – 9
Bruno – 8
Total: 33

Now Bruno is officially calling him ‘Robert’ i.e. his actual name, I am going to sit here smugly in the knowledge that I refused to budge in not reducing him to a gimmick this series.
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Andrew – 8
Izzie – 8
Jamie – 8
Luke – 8
Total: 32

Izzie:
All series I’ve been considerably impressed by Oksana’s ability to choreograph for you, with the personality always able to come through and not to the detriment of the dance (cow-smooching shenanigans aside, but I suspect that may have had a producer’s hand in it) and this felt like a very natural progression of your journey through the series. The natural charm and personality were there, but it was packaged in a way that showed off Robert-the-dancer-paying-tribute-to-his-Grandparents. While it may not have always had that effortless ease throughout, you delivered the little quirks of choreography beautifully and you’re slowly starting to lead in dance.

My apologies, I didn’t expect to be quite so handy with the words when it came to this dance. Fair play to any of you who go to the end of that.

ONE MARK LESS

Onto the next couple, Ore and Joanne…
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton dancing the Rumba to ‘Ordinary People’ (John Legend)

Craig – 8
Darcey – 9
Len – 9
Bruno – 9
Total: 35

Ore’s hands are massive. Lucky Mrs Oduba if is he’s a correspondingly proportioned man.
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Andrew – 9
Izzie – 8
Jamie – 8
Luke – 8
Total: 33

Jamie:
It wasn't the most gripping piece of choreography in the world to be entirely honest, and you were moving your hips in a slightly odd way throughout, especially towards the start where you were just swinging your pelvis round. Otherwise, not a shoddy effort at all, Ore! Your arm lines were surprisingly good, your timing was pretty much spot-on and you captured the romantic feel really well. For a blokerumba, it was more than acceptable.

It seems ‘which way to go’ is down, albeit marginally…

THREE MARKS FEWER

Time for the dance that launched a thousand gifs, Ed and Katya…
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Ed Balls and Katya Jones dancing the Salsa to ‘Gangnam Style’ (Psy)

Craig – 4
Darcey – 7
Len – 8
Bruno – 6
Total: 25

They’ve clearly learned their mistakes from last year when their big push to get Jeremy to Blackpool was ‘JEREMY’S GONNA RIDE A GUITAR LOLZ’.
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Andrew – 1
Izzie – 4
Jamie – 5
Luke – 5
Total: 15

Izzie:
If you thought my comment for Rinder was long… Just, I barely know where to start. As a ‘look Ed’s doing Gangnam Style effort!!!’ I was disappointed. Apart from the sidey-sidey leg thing, the gimmicks didn’t have me sat in my chair whooping with laughter as I think I was expected too, and even the sidey-sidey leg thing was more a ‘haha, he’s not bad at that’ rather than side splitting. The Salsa, which seems to have been somewhat brushed over in this psychedelic-Korean TV commercial, was actually there which I had forgotten amongst everything else last night and your rhythm did come through in those moments, before moving swiftly onto the next gimmick. I think, as a ‘funny, but can dance’ effort, this was inferior to your Cha Cha Cha. The audience went bonkers and this is easily the most-watched dance on YouTube from last night though, so what do I know?

Rather unsurprisingly, Ed and Katya have dropped quite a few marks…

TEN MARKS FEWER

With the heavy task of following that, Claudia and AJ…
IzzieStar
13-11-2016
Claudia Fragapane and AJ Pritchard dancing the Viennese Waltz to ‘Breakaway’ (Kelly Clarkson)

Craig – 9
Darcey – 9
Len – 9
Bruno – 9
Total: 36

I’m genuinely surprised (and thankful) they didn’t have her paying tribute to ‘The Princess Diaries’ with that song.
