Original Score: 31

Callum – 10
Luke – 9
Ross – 9
Stuart – 7
Total: 35

Luke:
This dance stuck out like a sore thumb in the judges' choice round - whereas Ore and Danny got two of their highest-scoring, most memorable, crowd-pleasing routines, you, Louise, got given the one where you run around the floor with your bum and throw a bucket of glittter on your face at the end. With occasionally dancing in between. And you danced it the second time around about as well as you'd have been expected to, considering, erm, 'well' how the Cha-Cha-Challenge went, but also considering how party Latin has never been your strong suit. You were still looking down quite a bit and your footwork wasn't perfect, for example. However, this was the first routine of yours that made me think that you might not be a walking Very advert, which I applaud you for. Just lose the wig, please.

Not quite the highs of last night, but fairly close…

THREE MARKS FEWER

With the final judges’ choice, Danny and Oti…

Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse dancing the Quickstep to ‘I Won’t Dance’ (Fred Astaire)

Original Score: 36

Craig – 9
Darcey – 9
Len – 9
Bruno – 9
Total: 36

With that hiccup, it’s the first routine not to improve on the original score. Are we about to see the same again?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Original Score: 36

Callum – 9
Luke – 9
Ross – 7
Stuart – 9
Total: 34

Stuart:
What a show you put on, Danny. It is such a shame you went wrong, but other than that one mistake it was faultless. Perhaps a little frantic, but fabulously so!

Not too surprisingly, there’s a drop to be seen here…

ONE MARK LESS

Onto the Showdance stage we go with Ore and Joanne…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton dancing their Showdance to ‘I Got Rhythm’ (George Gershwin and Ire Gershwin)

Craig – 10
Darcey – 10
Len – 10
Bruno – 10
Total: 40

Are we about to see a whole load more tens for this pairing?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Callum – 10
Luke – 10
Ross – 8
Stuart – 9
Total: 37

Luke:
Smug vicar, eat your heart out. Ore, props to you (not literally, although if you want a giant drum kit, hey, why not) for raising your game at a point where doing so was so crucial. Sure, getting to do two Fred 'n' Ginge routines in the final is a bit jammy, but you executed this one near-perfectly and I can't complain. Aside from that, I'd just like to remind everybody that this is the same Joanne Clifton who choreographed the Scott Mills crab dance. What a journey we've been on together.

Why break the habit of a lifetime (/series)?

THREE MARKS FEWER

Time to take another look at Louise and Kevin…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton dancing their Showdance to ‘One Moment in Time’ (Whitney Houston)

Craig – 9
Darcey – 9
Len – 10
Bruno – 10
Total: 38

Was this the one moment our judges had all been waiting for?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Callum – 10
Luke – 9
Ross – 8
Stuart – 8
Total: 35

Stuart:
I was crying by the end. Yes, bored to tears. There wasn't anything bad about it, but there wasn't much good. And you were looking down far too much.

Will we see anyone match their score today?

THREE MARKS FEWER

The final Showdance came courtesy of Danny and Oti…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse dancing their Showdance to ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ (Adele)

Craig – 10
Darcey – 10
Len – 10
Bruno – 10
Total: 40

Did that dance set our judges’ hearts alight though?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Callum – 8
Luke – 9
Ross – 9
Stuart – 10
Total: 36

Callum:
It was very Showdance down to choreography however for me it was far too aggressive, yes you need attack in dance but you don't need to look idiotic with it. However, you really are a terrific dancer.

Yet another drop to be seen…

FOUR MARKS FEWER

Dancing for the final time, Ore and Joanne…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton dancing the Jive to ‘Runaway Baby’ (Bruno Mars)

Original Score: 39

Craig – 10
Darcey – 10
Len – 10
Bruno – 10
Total: 40

The first since Jill’s to bag a perfect score. Do our judges think it deserved it?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Original Score: 36

Callum – 10
Luke – 10
Ross – 9
Stuart – 9
Total: 38

Stuart:
There were a few moments where it was just a bit flat footed which is the only thing stopping me giving it a 10. Great routine and beautifully danced otherwise.

St Jill’s Jive remains untouched here…

TWO MARKS FEWER

Taking on their Argentine Tango once more, Louise and Kevin…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton dancing the Argentine Tango to ‘Tanguero’ (Sexteto Mayor)

Original Score: 39

Craig – 10
Darcey – 10
Len – 10
Bruno – 10
Total: 40

Their first perfect score of the series, are they about to see their second?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Original Score: 38

Callum – 10
Luke – 10
Ross – 10
Stuart – 9
Total: 39

Callum:
Louise, you are my winner, you are simply sublime and captivating. Wow.

And with that single 9, they just miss out on their chance for a perfect score…

ONE MARK LESS

Danny and Oti had the honour of the final dance of the series…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse dancing the Samba to ‘Magalenha’ (Sérgio Mendes ft. Carlinhos Brown)

Original Score: 40

Len – 10
Bruno – 10
Total: 40

Are we about to end the series on a high?
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Original Score: 37

Callum – 10
Luke – 10
Ross – 10
Stuart – 10
Total: 40

Luke:
Simply put, the best Samba in Strictly history. Oti, you are an absolute dahnce goddess and you should be partnered with a super mega uber ringah every year until you finally win, just so we get to watch more routines like this. Heck, you probably wouldn't need a ringah every year. I'd pay to watch, say, Strictly 2018 contestant Des Lynam attempting this number. Oh, yes, and you've been a pleasure to watch, Danny, etc etc. I don't think it matters that you didn't take the crown, because a) any of the three were deserving (*drink*) and b) it just plays into my weak theory that this was a slightly less fun re-run of the 2013 final three. And with much less divine-touching too (for anyone playing along at home, Louise is Susanna, Danny is Natalie with Abbey's me nerves, and Ore is Abbey with Susanna's tendency to start crying and/or praying at any given moment)

Finally, and very deservedly in this case, a couple…

MATCH THEIR SCORE

Let’s take a look at the comparison leaderboards JUST FOR GUIDANCE etc…
IzzieStar
18-12-2016
Strictly Leaderboard
1st – Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton – 119
2nd – Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton – 116
=2nd – Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse – 116

Our Way Leaderboard
1st – Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse – 110
2nd – Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton – 109
3rd – Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton – 108

This is all feeling rather familiar…

LINES HAVE NOW OPENED!

This is your last chance to vote (because even in a three-person final, the BBC denied us the chance to know who was second and third) so please rank the contestants from 1-3 (1 for least favourite, 3 for favourite). My predictions have been way off all series, but I have a feeling Ore won’t be following in Jay’s footsteps to achieve the double win.

The winner of the series will be announced tomorrow at 7pm. See you then.

are you doing the Xmas special as well after its being shown?

I won't be. Just because Christmas tends to be a very busy time and I'm not sure that the interest will still be there if it's left hanging until January.

LINES HAVE CLOSED FOR THE FINAL TIME

On Saturday night, Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton were the couple to defy the odds and lift that much-coveted glitterball trophy. It’s been far from an easy ride on here for them though as they’ve fallen into the bottom two with exasperating predictability. They have slowly been picking up and avoiding being rock bottom of the vote for the last few rounds though, so could they pull of the double tonight?

First things first though, it’s time to announce the couple who landed in THIRD PLACE…
IzzieStar

NONE OF THEM

No, I am not doing a BBC and insisting on having joint runners up – you lot have done that for me with your votes. That’s right, for the first time in Our Way history, we will be joining the BBC in having two people enjoy the privilege of being a ‘runner up’. Unlike the BBC though, this is down to two couples being tied, not…whatever the BBC’s reason is.

Instead, we will be finding out your Our Way Champion 2016!

The couple with the 40.0% of the vote, winning this series, is…
IzzieStar
19-12-2016
🎇🏆 DANNY MAC & OTI MABUSE 🏆🎇

Like Natalie Gumede and Frankie Bridge before him, Danny Mac has overturned the Strictly vote to be named the Our Way Champion. This pairing is the only final partnership to top the Our Way vote (on three separate occasions) and also have the honour of the highest average score and one of those rate gems – an Our Way perfect score.

That means that our joint runners up with 30.0% are…
IzzieStar
19-12-2016
ORE ODUBA & JOANNE CLIFTON and LOUISE REDKNAPP & KEVIN CLIFTON

Those bloody Cliftons, eh? In all seriousness though, I think it’s quite nice/fitting that they get to share the runner up spot having traded the place at the bottom of the vote for the last few rounds. With Claudia really picking up support here, and Danny to a lesser extent, they have somewhat fallen by the wayside when it comes to votes, but neither of them will have to end the series in third place…which is something, I guess?
