Probably because he blatantly favoured Vanessa over her, and he took a toy car off her and gave it to Vanessa. I still think that he's only trying to make things up with Tracy because of what Vanessa said to him. I doubt he would have repeatedly tried if Vanessa hadn't have gave him that ultimatum when he first arrived.

Didn't he say he was in prison because he threw one punch in a fight and the guy died instantly? So he's not a massive criminal and his only other "crime" was getting Tracey's Mum pregnant while married/dating Vanessa's Mum - obviously not the nicest thing to do but 70% of Emmerdale's couples have had affairs!!!
