EE: Fish Fingers For 5 Vs Vegetable Lasagna? Cost..
What is Stacey on about with suggesting Fish Fingers over Veg lasagna? I would've thought it would be cheaper cooking from scratch a Lasagna then Frozen convenience food? Better for you too.

Surely Fish Fingers would be way cheaper! The Lasagna would probably need loads of ingredients. But yeah it would definitely be more healthy and tasty lol.

They'll never have to worry about food again when they move into Sonia's house... The freezer is a bottomless pit of Morgan's Chicken nuggets.

![]() Being serious, the fish fingers are cheaper but in the long run, the lasagna is if you shop around and there is websites that do frugal cooking - even a vegetarian lasagne wouldn't cost much. |

4 fish fingers each = 20 fish fingers = £2 at Tesco
Instant mash = 58p Frozen veg - £1 Easily cheaper. Flour - cupboard staple Chopped tomatoes - 50p Herbs - cupboard staple Pasta - 50p Veg - £1.50 Healthier, tastier and lasts longer. |

If they stopped buying coffee from the cafe to take home and just made their own they'd be able to afford lasagne and fish fingers.

I thought Kyle said pasta bake, not lasagne? It'd be cheaper as you only use one sauce.
Also it wouldn't surprise me if Martin doesn't get free fruit and veg from the stall (the stuff that's about to go bad and has sold etc) which would drive the prices down further. |

I never thought I'd see the day Stacey Slater would be debating whether to have fish fingers or veg lasagne, she's changed so much!

She was moaning about the costs of dinner but then suddenly turns around and says 'we are getting a bigger place'. So she can't afford meals but she can afford a deposit and first months rent. And why is Sonia not sending money or putting it in a bank account for her daughter. She just buggered off and left it up to Martin and Stacey to pay for her.

The veggie bake would be very cheap if Martins gets the veg at cost off the stall. But yeah, no money for a box of fish yet they go get take out coffee, not very realistic. He needs to start selling some ladies fashions off the veg stall, Kush & Donna make a mint on their stalls. lol

They can't be that broke, there's 4 working adults in the flat. They'll get child benefit for the 3 kids, which will be about £50 a week.
Kyle said he'd move out and it would be one less mouth to feed, but surely he'd be contributing so covering the cost of his food and chipping into the bills. The space would still be an issue if he stayed obviousl, but I don't see how they'd be better off financially if he left. EE portrayal of money issues has always been awful. It's always been pointed out how they go to the he pub and cafe when broke, but I'd have thought the writers would have cottoned on to that and at least have given Stacey and Kyle other reasons to bump into each other rather than a blatantly wasteful tea run right after a scene where they were stressing about money. |

Where is all the money they saved from that? |

They are hardly on the breadline. I think they are just one of those young couples who love to moan like they are in their 70s
Martin must get some great discount on fruit and veg |

Kyle was such a martyr about moving out last night, so desperate for Stacey to beg him to stay. Also, if their are 4 adults working why is Belinda 'paying most of the rent'? Surely she should be paying 25%?

Well considering Martin runs a fruit and veg stall the veggie pasta bake wouldn't cost that much surely and certainly be a lot healthier.

Yeah I'm confused why they can't afford to eat when in the same episode Kyle pointed out that Belinda pays most of the rent. Where is the rest of their money going? And surely Kyle is putting money in - so why if he leaves does that solve their money problem?

I did laugh when Stacey was fretting about money and then a couple of scenes later wandered into the cafe to get a couple of coffees
Maybe a budgeting storyline is imminent - have we ever had one of those? |
