Will SOC rebuild the Brannings? EE
I can possibly see this happening.
Lauren and Abi have been a drift of late even if Dot & Jack are on the Square. Max is returning, Cora is still due to return as well but I think we need at least one of Max & Jack's Sisters back and the Square needs a new Bitch after Babe leaves - Still too early for a Janine return in my view- cue - Suzy Branning but bring her back with one of her kids- her grown up Son Kevin- the Square needs more Men in their late 20's. Would Maggie O'Neil return as Suzy or a recast? And if so who? Danny Mac could play Kevin but he is not really a Kevin though! They could change Kevin to another name. |

He is better off introducing a brand new family rather than trying to revive the spent force that are the Brannings.

Danny Mac was terrible in Hollyoaks so he's the last person I'd want to see in Eastenders.
I can see Danny Mac in EastEnders however. |

I'd like to see Suzie back as long as she's played by the same actress even if it's just short term.

A Blast from the Past.
I can see Danny Mac in EastEnders however. ![]() I do think he was quite good in the role of Dodger which basically required him to be a cheeky chappy who took his top off a lot and had female characters doing stupid things to be with him. Probably not a million miles away from his real life persona. He might work in EE but I can't imagine he'll play anything other than a similar kind of character. If any past HO actor from that age group is going to be cast it really should be Andy Moss who is a fantastic actor, good-looking (not Danny Mac levels of good looking but a very relatable sort of handsome) and would fit into EE effortlessly. As for the Brannings, who knows beyond the fact that Max will be back soon and will presumably be out for revenge unless he's found Jesus during his time away. I definitely think Lauren and Abi need some work, they've been lost recently. |

Oh god I hope not! One of the worst families to ever have walked onto the square. Lauren, sorry JB, is one of the most pointless and terrible characters on the show. I really dislike Jacqueline's acting. Abi is no better, a spiteful cow. Sour-faced Jack is boring. I think they are better slowly getting rid of the family and bringing in a better, fresh family.

I don't mind Max and Jack, but Lauren and Abi are frustratingly stale.
Courtney and Mark were far more fresh and interesting. It's EE biggest problem after the DTC era. Sensationalism and stale characters. |

I like the Brannings, Max and Abi at the moment i would prfer to Jack and Lauren. I used to be a big Lauren fan but i find her very wet blanket at the moment. Jack, i am struggling to see what they can do with the character to keep him interesting outside of Ronnies departure. It will most likely depend on who they pair him off with.

Do you even watch HO, Vas? Or are you just suggesting him because he's fit?

No I only watch two soaps religiously- EastEnders and Neighbours.
Yes he is fit but I do think he would suit EastEnders plus he is a Londoner too. who is Andy Moss? He played Rhys Ashworth in Hollyoaks, and more recently was on Doctor. Though I didn't see him on that, apparently the storyline he was in got a lot of attention. He was excellent in Hollyoaks and was involved in some of its most memorable storylines. He was killed off a while back (although was then brought back as a 'ghost' a couple of years later), not sure if it was his decision to go or not, but his death was one of the saddest in HO history, IMO. Though they did inexplicably ruin his character beforehand by turning him into a cheater. Still mad at them for doing that. His best work was a three hander episode where his girlfriend Jacqui confronted her rapist, who had been Rhys's best friend. His performance during it was so understated and powerful. I struggle to think of many soap actors who connect as well with the material they're given as Andy Moss does. Danny Mac certainly isn't among them. He isn't a big 'flashy' actor, he's got a very naturalistic way of performing, which is why I think he'd fit in seamlessly with EE. |

Nah. I don't mind Max and Lauren. Abi is ok. But sod the rest of the scummy, incestuous family. They were shoved down our throats endlessly in the Kirkwood/Newman era.

I think the execution of Max's revenge is make or break for me on this character. He was quite interesting early on, but it must be at least 5 years since I last enjoyed watching him. Not a fan of his daughters either. they have both shown improvement at different times in small patches, but then they always quickly regress back to superficial and uninteresting.

I would have Max back to take on some ridiculous revenge storyline where he gets a bit carried away with it, have a big five-hander with him, jane, ian lauren and Abi at some warehouse. At the end of it he realises that family is important, but only chooses to forgive Abi and not Lauren, taking Abi to live with him at some house that Jack's done him a brothers-rate on. As compensation for being wrongfully sent down, Max forces Ian to give him the restaurant. He still has animosity towards Lauren, which causes some interest long-term friction. Apart from that, we forget that any of the stupid Lucy Beale saga ever happened and move on to what the Brannings would naturally be doing in 2016 on the square.
Max goes after Ben when he realises how he treated Abi, then re-ignites his feud with Phil Mitchell. Lauren moves out of the Beales' to live with Stephen and whatever her baby is called. She is fine until Stephen does something crazy, then she goes to her dad begging for his forgiveness and to take her and her baby in. When he finds out what Stephen's done he storms round there etc. etc. gets angry at the Beales etc. and forgives Lauren, telling her and Abi that he'll always be there for them and it's time their family got back together. They then live together. Meanwhile in a side-plot, Max convinces Stacey to take a second job (due to the struggling with rent storyline) as a waitress at the restaurant he now owns. He notices that she has a boring life now, spending half her time by the sink washing up or having bland dialogue with a re-cast character. He tries to get her to remember who she used to be/really is and have a bit of excitement in her life. Do they or do they not re-commence their affair? Maybe they don't and Max gets in a relationship with Belinda, who moves into the house with him and his daughters. Stacey gets jealous. When Ronnie leaves, have Jack get depressed or something but actually do it properly unlike the Lee Carter storyline. Max has to help him out. |
