He has salsa, samba, jive, AT, AS, waltz, tango and Charleston to come! So plenty of scope for high scores.
Would love to see an AT from Danny & Oti, that could be phenomenal.

In my mind, he could well be the best male dancer we've had on Strictly and he could knock a few of those dances out of the park (provided everything goes alright on the night of course...!).

Thank you- this is so useful It's Choreography Corner as it should be done, sigh...

Yep- been banging on about this since week 2; just because so-called ringers are good doesn't mean they find it easy. In fact for some viewers, making it look easy actually works against them. Can't win eh.
And I've always felt there was more going on with him than just a pretty face- so at least this mishap has shown it to the doubters. Honestly- some people have very little imagination when they say "so-and-so has no personality". If it's not presented to them on a plate a la Rinder/Tameka style they can't see it.
I agree. Danny definitely has a personality, it just isn't in your face.

I fully agree and that is why I like him. Not over confident or cocky or dull as dishwater. Just a nice person who wants to perform well every week for Oti and is not afraid to show it.

I'm another who thinks he has a lovely, gentle personality, makes me realise how well he acted as Dodger in Hollyoaks

Changing the subject, happy the 1st AT has been announced to someone else, it's always tough being the 1st to perform that I feel

I love Danny's personality and I think it's a shame some people mistake him being quiet and calm for him being dull. He's clearly so supportive towards everyone - him blowing a kiss to Anastacia, always cheering people on and being the first to hug the eliminated couple - and he's got such a good perspective on the show. He's there to learn to dance and is clearly loving the experience but recognises it's not the most important thing in the world. His comment up in the Clauditorium tonight is exactly why I like him so much.

How cruel to leave them till the very end .
Delighted that they're still in the competition and I can't wait to see what dance they have next week.

It was cruel and hopefully will be the last time they are left to the end!

I wonder what dance they will have next week? One of the lift allowing dances, if not they will all be coming one after the other! It should be Salsa or Charleston, so will probably be Samba.

His comment made me like him even more. He's very down to earth.

It was so predictable that they were going to leave them last with Anastasia. It wasn't very nice because they had a bad week.

I'm wondering if they've got the jive or samba as Claudia was talking about him needing to bounce back. She sounded like she was about to say "because you've got..." and mention next week's dance but then Oti said how he needed to bounce her back (the way he immediately comforted her - and held her hand the whole time - was so sweet and I hope she's okay and not berating herself) so she didn't finish. They're both very bouncy dances and he's due a Latin dance.

YES...................Delighted to see Danny and Oti through. Agree with everything above. I've liked Danny from the off............just something about him. Can't explain it (might be something to do with the fact that he is a brilliant dancer!!!) I find him extremely likeable. Interesting to see how it's Oti that needs a bit of support!!!

They made D&O sweat a bit there anyway onwards and upwards for next week.

Watching Danny muck-up his steps yesterday the first thing that came to mind was ‘well, here's the botched dance the journey yearners have been craving’. For me, the mistake and wobbles were down to a lack of focus (on his part) and not the elastic appendage or 'bungee/umbilical cord' as it was labelled in some quarters. Danny and Oti put in a lot of hours and I'm sure they nailed this routine more times than not. It's really funny reading the dismissive musings of people who didn't ‘get’ the concept so instead take a swipe at it. Know-it-all James Jordan called it a 'rubbish idea' and declared that the dance suffered because being 'too clever and inventive' is a bad thing when creating choreography.

I thought the routine was pure artistry. My interpretation of the dance was the everlasting connection between the couple in marriage/life (the start showing unpainted half of their faces). While the end pose with the corpse make-up on show was reminiscent of death and the unrelenting bind that exists.

The red elastic band symbolized the Red String of Fate, which tied in well with the Halloween theme i.e. the strong bond one has with their soulmate in life and death.

Don’t think there’s any need to reprise the foxtrot in the final if they make it that far, it was very much of the occasion and it’s not as if the entire dance was strewn with errors. They’ve got so many more exciting dances to come so they’ll be a lot to choose from.

BIB I cant believe James said that and does he even realize that he is contradicting himself Well if you're creating a choreography, you are supposed to be clever and inventive.

Yes, I love how you have interpreted that..........I think BIB you could factor in some nerves there.........difficult routine, props to think about...... I've noticed that in training he double spins sometimes, and when it comes to the routine, he single spins??? Probably afraid he'll fall over!!!!! Nerves, maybe!!!

Looking forward to next week. Can't wait to see what they have.

Sometimes this show can be a pain in the arse while you wait to be drip fed the next dance routine, ( i demand cctv cameras in training room ) that can be watched on line for privacy no sound like autumn watch.

I normally end up watching their dance 10 times so far not once this week i feel robbed

no Some people think dance is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that I joke Danny take note
plagiarised from B Shankly

God yes, back to cctv in the training rooms......................much more interesting than those stupid VTs.....when will they ever learn.... I want to see blood and guts, toilet breaks, sneaky snacks, crying, laughing, shouting, swearing, Oh god, thats big brother!!! ;Just keep it rolling and I can slot in and out whenever I feel like it.

Good man, Bill Shankly............Wonder how he would get on with a cha cha cha

Precisely, but then jj is a prize numpty so it's no surprise he'd make such an inane remark.

I completely agree re nerves. Also, I reckon he doubts himself a bit at times, this is most likely his personal journey which isn't as noticeable to the masses but one he'd hope to overcome as the competition progresses.

I agree. Danny definitely has a personality, it just isn't in your face.
It is quite rare for such a handsome guy to be so genuinely nice, but he really is so likeable.

I just don't understand how anyone can find him dull and bland.

I am really hoping that they have the Charleston or Samba next Saturday.

I was surprised to see the red string/rubber band ( whatever we should call it!) as it was an integral part of the dance but in the training clips we did see they were not using any string/band so I wonder when they did actually use it for the first time...in the training room or during the rehearsals at SCD towers as it would have made a big change to the dance and how Danny was performing on the night and the cause of all his problems.

I hope they get a fun dance this week to put everything back on track as I think Oti needs it more than Danny.

I went to my art group this morning and we were talking about Strictly (as you do) and it was the general consensus that they were routing for Danny and Oti! Most hated Ore's facial hair and wig and thought it was nothing to do with the dance.

I'm sure they practiced with the rubber band. I'd say they were just trying to keep it a secret. Both of them alluded to it on IT2. I have loved Oti's choreography from day one and as mentioned before, I love the concept but it just might have been a step too far to get the foxtrot technique, plus dealing with the added complication in 4 days!! Just think how it would have looked if they have done this dance first instead of the cha cha. They would have had 3 weeks!!!!!!
