That is an interesting mix very different from the original and could well work for an AT. I still say it's a strange choice of song when there is so much appropriate AT music about but D&O are the only ones who could produce an AT to that style of music from this years couples.

Yes, feeling bereft of any Danny & Oti so far....................hoping for some good footage today. Only saw snippets of Loose Women on youtube. Interesting to hear him say that favourites don't win!!! I don't know about favourites, that could change every week, but the competition is definitely open.

School report

It works. A very good half term report. Danny said himself in a RadioTimes interview on YouTube that Oti kept/keeps trying to make him sit up straight as his posture does slouch so Craig has picked up on that.

I'm so glad we're finally going to get to see some training tonight. I really want to see how it's going.

Since they normally appear on ITT on a Thursday, I wonder if Oti asked to be moved to a Friday so they can have a full day of training today. Otherwise Tuesday would have been their only full day - not ideal for an AT!

Looking at comments on bbc strictly website seems that they will be doing a Milonga AT which is a faster pace.

Oti seems to favour fast choreography (cha cha + jive) so an AT performed at a speed faster than we usually see on strictly could be what she's aiming for.

Although the song isn't conventional AT music combined with this style of AT D&O dance could be something fresh and wondrous.

Another example of Milonga and not a lift in sight but lifts aren't necessary when the dancing is this good.

Two very small snippets but at last we had a glimpse of the AT. Very promising. 😊

Training looks good. Danny definitely seems to have been working hard this week and Oti and him respond well to pressure. I feel more confident about their AT after that, and I can see how it'll fit to the music more. Also Oti in a pleather dress 😍

Lovely to see some training at last, and looking very good. It does look like it could be the Milonga style of AT from watching the YT video and seeing their training.

Alison Graham has written a very nice piece about Danny in the new Radio Times entitled Strictly Common Sense on her TV page (55).

I quote "What a nice young man you are, Danny Mac. I had a go at Strictly stars last week for banging on about how hard they work, as if they spend months at a time in a Chilean coal mine. But credit where it's due. After a slight slip-up in his routine on Halloween Night, Hollyoaks veteran Danny was quizzed in the Clauditorium on the results show and was disarmingly frank: "The dance last night didn't go perfectly, but there are worse things happening in the world than messing up a Foxtrot". What a great thing to say and what perspective. It's nice to hear someone with a bit of humility and common sense."

Have to be honest and say I was a little disappointed with the footage. And I realise it was short footage. It's along the lines of what Ian said on ITT - the one thing I think Danny can't quite get is stillness in a dance. I get that this AT is gonna be quick, but I think it still needs light and shade. I feel it's the one aspect of his dancing that's missing that I hope develops

I do get what you're saying. Danny has such speed and energy. He just needs to use it in the right places. As you say, it was a small piece of footage. Hoping it will be alright on the night. Oti is loving her dress!!!!

They seem to avoid showing us the best bits of Doti's highlights on ITT, perhaps to keep the suspense and anticipation for Saturday.

I think part of the light and shade and stillness is down to the choreography. Danny is being challenged to the max and is doing well to perform well whilst mastering difficult techniques to a high standard. As the process continues and he practises more things will start to be more intuitive and hopefully the contrasts that Ian mentioned will be mastered alongside the complex routines. 😊
