I rather like the look of Dannys Samba in training earlier this week. Its a fast track but I can see that Danny has speed in his body and feet so will have no trouble keeping on time. A lot of other celebs have trouble with a fast samba and just end up running through the steps without finishing them, but I'm certain Danny will have no trouble at all..
From the clip we saw he has a natural great body rhythm and bounce action. I am hopeful that this will be very good indeed.

Maybe the wrong one

It's really promising to hear Ian describe D&O samba as 'absolutely brilliant'. Danny looked good and as you mentioned has natural body rhythm and bounce. Think I read somewhere samba is Oti's favourite dance so it isn't any wonder she's working him really hard this week. They must be completely shattered doing two Latin routines in less than 5 days after doing the jive, AT and Charleston.

On a different note, saw Gleb's dwts show dance the other day, he adopted the 'appendage' idea and stumbled over it at one point. However, Len said it was a 'fascinating concept'. I mean, it's not like he's ever seen it before. Perhaps redoing the foxtrot in the final, if they make it, is a distinct possibility.

I've seen the "appendage" used in dances years ago, in show dances particularly for rumba. Instead of having the hand hold connection ( guys left and ladies right hands), they used the ribbon, keeping a strong, taut tension there. I remember seeing this danced to the song " Chains" by Tina Arena in a showdance, and it really added to the dance, I loved it. Never seen it for ballroom before Oti/Danny did their dance but I loved it.
They will be exhausted at the end of the series but for now, I would think the adrenalin is taking over.each week.

It will be interesting to see what dances are picked for the final, assuming Danny makes the final. There have been many good dances, but looking at ballroom, I would love it if they were brave to pick the Foxtrot again. It was a fabulous - and difficult - routine, and had Danny not blanked out and forgot his steps, it would have been fantastic. It was for me, anyway, even with the mistakes, as I could see the potential of what it was and could have been. Oti did not make it easy, there were many basic variations ( by the way, basic in dance does not mean easy) that were recognisable and some advanced groups that are used by competitors. Now if he could soften his frame and back/sides a little, soften his knees and roll through the feet to aid bodyflight, it would be hard to beat. Sure Oti will work on this.

If they make the final (fingers crossed) they will not repeat the Foxtrot. It was the Halloween week dance and dances from that week never get repeated as the costumes and staging will not work in the final and they can't dance it again without the same set up/costuming.

I think the QS will get a repeat either as their favourite dance or the judges pick.

Is this always the case ?, I mean, not to repeat the dances of halloween week ? Surely they could still dance it ( minus the halloween makeup) just in ballroom costumes, minimal scenery.
After all, competitive dancers keep the same routines for years dancing to many, many different tracks - sure they could still dance to the same track though. If this is not possible, I hope they get a Fox based AS soon, would love to see Oti use lovely groups again along with smooth flowing side by side work.
I did enjoy the QS but has he done a VW or Waltz yet ? The waltz will be a test....

I completely agree with your assessment of the foxtrot, Oti choreographed a sublime routine. It would be a risk but I feel if it is to be reprised it is likely to be as the judges' pick.

Kara, reprising her rumba and AS in the final, wore two new dresses so things can be changed for the final. I wonder if they'll be allowed to tweak parts of the performance as this dance would still be amazing without the full-on Halloween makeup. Incorporate different costumes, minimal makeup but still keeping the dark moody aura and the appendage of course, it could be something special.

BIB - Danny did the VW in week two, not danced the Waltz yet nor the AS or ballroom Tango (I forgot about that dance!). He will only have the Salsa left on the Latin side after this week (fingers crossed they go through). Salsa is the one dance I hope they can avoid.

I've never seen a Halloween dance repeated on SCD since they started having that theme week. Quite honestly I don't think it's a dance D&O would want to repeat as on ITT Oti said they would never mention that dance again when Danny talked about mistakes, in jest of course but with some truth as well.

When repeating a dance the couples always seem to wear the same clothes/costumes from the first time it was danced so a Halloween dance would look very out of place considering the costumes, extra props (if used), and make-up all themed for that one night of the year. That is way Frankie & Kevin didn't repeat their Tango to Wicked in the final.

Chelsee & Pasha repeated a movie week dance but with less green make-up on Pasha as it was from Shrek the movie. There were no extra props if I remember correctly, but it still looked a bit out of place in the final!

I agree it looks really promising.


I liked the Foxtrot even though there were mistakes. However, I can imagine the Argentine Tango may well be the judges choice for reprisal because it divided opinion like Harry and Aliona's AT did. Doti have danced so many wonderful dances, we are spoilt for choice.

Just watched Danny and Oti's training and l'm loving the way Oti is torturing that boy - it was hilarious!

He's looking great - great rhythm, great enthusiasm. Loving the way she getting him out of his comfort zone. Really getting excited for Saturday's dance, roll on Saturday roll on.

There's a little preview of Danny and Oti's interview with SA's Top Billing here, including their usual adorable banter about Oti's work ethic. I can't view the other interview on the website so I can't tell if the full interview has been put up yet but hopefully it will be at some point.
I love this continued recognition of Oti's goddess status.

Their training looks amazing. Danny is under even more pressure as Samba is one of Oti's favourite styles of dance so he does not want to let her down. Go Danny, you will smash it
