Just out of interest, which dance would you all like Danny to avoid? He only has one Latin left I think and he'll probably perform that in the semi's if he gets that far which leaves the American Smooth, Tango and Waltz. I'd go for the Waltz purely because the other two will likely have more of an impact on the audience although I would have preferred him avoiding the Salsa.

I'm with you and would prefer it if Danny could avoid the Salsa, but I don't think it will happen with two dances in the SF (fingers crossed they get there of course) and think they will be stuck with it, but then again with four weeks of fast in hold out of hold dances you can never tell.

Of the ballrooms I would prefer AS or Tango for movie week (all being well this week) as both are stand out dances and that is what is needed at this stage of the competition.

I must add after watching ITT tonight I used to like Dan Walker but you can really go off people sometimes!

Might just be me but they seem to have found celeb fans for everyone but Danny and Oti for the Friday panel week in week out... Miranda forgot to mention the mistakes by everyone else and the bizarre marking of others but managed to suggest that Danny was overmarked. It just seemed a little half glass empty instead of half glass full after he performed such a wonderful dance with Oti.

I was out this evening so I just caught up on ITT with a lot of fast forwarding. Danny and Oti were delightful as always. I don't remember any other couple whose interviews I enjoyed as much as I enjoy theirs. Also his bewilderment about the cha cha challenge was hilarious (though I have total faith they'll be alright on the night - even if they haven't heard the music yet!)


I skipped much of the Friday panel because I don't need another week of celebs claiming Danny is "too good" - a ridiculous statement which I can't even pretend to understand - but I totally agree with this. Is Miranda saying his Charleston should have been scored equally to Claudia's jive? Really? I liked Craig commenting that while there was a mistake, it was still worth a ten because it was so amazing and captivating to watch.

For me, I would be quite happy if he skipped the salsa. I would love any of the other three.

Another challenging week for Danny with the samba. I love the idea of Oti's tribal samba. It'll be different. I saw lots of samba content so they really can't complain.

I'm getting a bit fed up with the ......."oh. he's too good...........almost a professional........need a journey....................improvement................never danced before....................". Although Ed makes me smile here and there........................Danny excites me big time, and I so want to be excited!!!!!

I'm also not liking the comments towards Danny from the Friday panel. Especially the ones that say he should be in the bottom 2 because he is "too good". Totally undermines all of the hard work he and Oti put into their routine imo.


The press release for the semi's says that each couple will dance one latin and one ballroom so looks like he'll definitely be doing the Salsa.

I'm not really sure why Miranda started with the negative comment. I know on the main forum some people have mentioned timing issues but I genuinely think they were in sync. Craig commented on how wonderful his timing was. The only tweak I think would be the hand swivels but that is such a little thing that Craig didn't notice until after and he still stood by his 10 because it was such an amazing performance. Brendan, James J, Nicole Cutler and Karen H all said it deserved 10s.

Miranda's just trying to be a bit controversial......I don't really take much notice of that. They're all trying to be entertaining, funny, etc.

Thanks for the info on the semis hayley.....looks like they're going to do the salsa anyway (if they are still in!!!!) . Am I right in thinking that Week 13 will be the final!!? Only three left then.

Their Samba looks great, I thought Danny deserved his 40 but I guess we all have different opinions. Can't wait for the tribal themed Samba, should be great.

Regarding the panel (I don't usually have time to watch the itt show) I'm surprised the bbc guy never said he was rooting for Naga instead he mentioned Tameka and Greg.

I do understand Miranda saying she thought it was a 9 purely if you base a 10 on making zero mistakes. I think there were mistakes in the dance. However I think it's true that any 10 dance on scd is never perfect - whether it's the performance side or technical. Ultimately for all over quality of dance, I think Danny deserved a ten.

I respect miranda right to have her opinion. I get why she loves Ed. I think he's been a fantastic competitor this year and I hope he goes far. But for me, I love Danny and Oti because they dance brilliantly but more importantly because I love their partnership and have fun together and work blooming hard.

I think what I found frustrating about Miranda's comment s was how dismissive she was of Danny's efforts. You can say he's the standard of pro (although that's total rubbish) but you can at least give credit to have hard he has worked.

This is the thing, if you're going to criticise overmarking at the weekend seems bizarre to pick on what was clearly the best dance of the night

And I must say, while some on here clearly dislike that he's had training which is totally up to them, I still think people are overlooking just how complex the routines are he's nailing week in week out - in ballroom and latin. I know the panels on ITT don't mean much but it is a bit irritating how dismissive some are of him and Oti's efforts and the sheer amount of work they're putting in to deliver phenomenal dances.

Particularly when at the next moment they're lauding Louise and saying she needs more confidence in her excellent abilities, as someone else who also has a dance bg. Louise has had some great dances, but I wish they'd be a little more even-handed.

I can never understand why they have a "panel" of people who know nothing of dancing. I always completely ignore what they say as its usually rubbish. They don't know what they are looking at so how can they possibly comment ?
If they want sensible comments and informed opinions, get the Pro's in to comment. This is a section that I cannot bear to watch, its a complete waste of time.

Just popping in because I love this pair and really look forward to their dances every week. I completely agree with this and especially the last paragraph. I was disappointed in Miranda, especially as Danny and Oti were there and it just seemed rude and unnecessary from her.

I was also a little disappointed that Ed didn't take the chance to distance himself from comments reported from him saying it's not about good dancers getting better. If he'd said not just about that I'd have agreed with him. But it's not just about you either Ed! And this is from someone who has enjoyed Ed a lot. Having heard Danny's glowing words about Ed and his efforts, it just would have been a nice opportunity, rather than push the I'm a beginner, trying my hardest line again (and again).

If you're putting in the effort Danny is it must be dispiriting at times but I hope not. Because he and Oti brighten the show every bit as much as Ed does, in their different ways.

Best of luck to them tonight, I hope the samba is as good as Oti hopes it will be.

Miranda would've meant her comments in jest and to cause a little controversy, like GorgeousGeorge said. I was just a little bemused that the only tongue in cheek criticism from the panel was aimed at Danny and Oti, who did the best dance last weekend and who were standing there listening.

Hopefully next week the panel will change the record and say how hard Danny and Oti work and what a mind-blowing Samba they performed. 🙏 😊

Not long to go now. Hopefully their hard work will be rewarded with a flawless performance. Kudos to Danny for throwing himself into this routine and respect to Oti for going with something different. Think it'll be a very good one.
