I see someone is trying to cause controversy on the main board. Yawn! Why do people get so worked up, there has always been a mix of talent otherwise SCD would not be worth watching, but there are people saying nice things about Danny which is all good.
Time to stay in the calm welcoming appreciation thread and ignore the main board, if possible!

They were just sublime, and after the raves that they received from the judges, I don't understand why they didn't get four 10'a.

Got one 'on me' today, so I am fighting back, for now.
Doubt it'll be long before I only venture from the attic to the spoiler thread tho Why do so many insist their opinions are the right ones? And why can't they just enjoy such stunning dances? We're not demanding they all vote for the best dance of the night. If they want to vote for sub standard routines, that's their choice, as it is ours to vote according to what we see on our screens. Feeling fed up on behalf of our pair and would love to slap Grumpy Goodman Go Team Doti! |

So glad they got through and pleased Danny has the Rumba early. I'm sure he will brilliant but I'm always pleased when the male celeb, well my favourite male celeb gets to dance it early in the competition.
If the VW was anything to go by he should be able to produce some great lines and moves required for the Rumba. |

Considering Danny said 'he didn't become an actor to be himself' I'd love for him to have a character to portray. If not, that Oti choreographs a storyline for him to act.
SCD Rumba's are often awkward, team Doti's has the potential to be stunning |

Everyone knows how exposing a Rumba is...........technique has to be really good but I'm sure Oti will drill it. Very interested to find out what they are dancing to.

So nice to see Danny acknowledging Oti's talents the way he did in the results show.
Every week they get better so I too believe the rumba could be special. Somebody has to shatter the rumba jinx/kiss of death for celeb males and Danny's the perfect candidate.

I think Jay has already done that (and Colin Jackson of course). However, I am sure Danny and Oti will do a beautiful rumba.

I notice that Danny is the only one who has thanked the wardrobe and make up people. He is a very polite young man!

Hehehe Not meaning to demean Danny but it sounds the only praise he wants is from,Oti at the end, he always says thanks to her which I rate as great

Yes, I've noticed that Danny nearly always thanks Oti, usually when they are going up the stairs. Two or three times I've heard him say it.

Popping in to say it was a fantastic quickstep, perfect music and great, great theme. Loved it. Oti also looked wonderful in her dress - very elegant.
Just a bit of info from the Laura and Gio thread. Last week, Laura Whitmore posted on her instagram a 10 second clip of Gio and Oti dancing a slow rumba in Laura's rehearsal studio. Edit: Bit of possible info about the music below
Spoiler
So,,, it was probably Gio demonstrating the gentleman's rumba steps to help Danny. In which case, I think he is off to a very good start! ![]() I suspect that we will hear the line that 'Craig has never given a 10 for a rumba' in the build up to next week's show... |

I know. It should have ticked all the boxes for what Len wants. I know he didn't like the opening section but I loved it and thought it added to the dance and the timing was spot on considering Danny and Oti had their backs to each other doing the flick kicks (or whatever they are called).
For fun I thought I'd note how long the so called 'faffing' took, (tho it was all danced by Danny), it was around 29 seconds til they got into hold. Ironically almost the same time as Louise + Kevin took, yet their 'faffing' (acting) was praised for 'setting a scene'? Ok, on to next week, cannot wait, Danny can produce the most beautiful lines. Yes, it's unlikely to get a 10, but I'll settle for 4 x 9's, god willing! |

Some nice quotes from Brendan about Danny
"We've had our first 10s of the series… but I feel bad for Danny Mac I thought Ore's dance was great, and it was phenomenal to get 10s. I was really chuffed for him, and they did a very good dance – the stuff he did was actually very, very complicated and what was great about it was his action was so good. Quite often you can fake an action, you can try and emulate an action, but he was actually doing some really good jiving stuff. But I'm not sure if 10s are ready to come out yet. If I was on the panel, I don't think I would have been putting up a 10 just at this moment, although they have got plenty of 10s to come. In fact, I'm going to put my head on the chopping block and say I was disappointed for Danny because I think actually his dance was pretty much perfect. I was disappointed he didn't get equal to Ore in his scores, because both dances were extremely good on the night so if one is going to get a 10 I think the other should get a 10." Winner of the week: Danny! I said to him afterwards, I think it's probably the finest quickstep I've seen on the show. It was exceptionally good. I think Len mentioned he had swing and sway – most of the celebrities aren't able to manage that throughout the course of the show. I often say nobody moves across the floor enough but he absolutely did that. He was getting the right action and the right technique so I was extremely impressed with what they produced, and I think if you're going to throw 10s out on a night, I think they were equally deserving of the big 10s. http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/strictl...ighting-truth/ |

What does everyone think? He has the potential to deliver a stunning Rumba, he does extend to such lovely lines. Sadly Rumba isn't usually a 10 dance, regardless how good it is, so I don't expect them to top the leaderboard. Should be close though, fingers crossed! |

What does everyone think? I'm sure Danny will be fine and as already said think he should have a character to play rather than being himself as the Rumba can be an exposing dance so better to 'hide' behind a character. It's the one dance I don't really like so I'm pleased he has it early. |

Never heard Sam Smith's version of the song.....he sings it beautifully....perfect for a rumba....if the band can do it justice. Oti has produced some brilliant choreography......am looking forward to it, but it could be a tricky one!!!

) quite atmospheric and moody. (Daisy and Alijaz had rather a fast rumba last week)
