I would agree it was the fault of the music. Way to fast for a Tango so Danny really had to hold it together when they were in hold which didn't allow for proper technique. I also think he does not like waiting around and gets anxious, he much prefers going 1st.

Also it was their first proper in hold ballroom dance since 'the dance that shall not be mentioned' so that probably played on his mind whilst waiting around.

I thought Oti's choreography was amazing to go with the music and Danny played the role perfectly.

The boy definitely deserves a good rest! He's been giving it everything these past few weeks and it's not going to get any quieter if he's through to the semis and doing two dances next week. Danny and his sofa = a match made in heaven.

I don't think that there was much in it between the top three last night. The Quickstep and Salsa are quite fast high impact dances and hard to compare to the Tango.

I did enjoy watching Danny and Oti's dance but I respect and understand the frustration that many have about the song choice. There is a little part of me that is thinking that the production team mightn't have wanted Danny to score another 40 at this stage. Perhaps with this in mind the decision to choose a Disco song for a Tango was made, as it did add an obstacle to the challenge of learning another dance. Either way I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing for Danny to have not achieved the perfect score last night.

I think when you watch our favourites who wow us week in week out, it's easy for us to have extremely high expectations. I think Danny had technical tweaks to make last night, but he did still dance well. His performance was polished, he didn't look out of place next to the pros, the storytelling was excellent to a very tricky song and the connection between Danny and Oti was there.

I do like Claudia, she's lovely... but I think a lot of people thought she was overmarked for her Jive. Her AT and Salsa have both played to her gymnastic strengths with wonderfully impressive lifts. Her Latin has also improved but the tweaks I think she needs to work on include achieving more flow between the moves, the storytelling, acting and connection between her and AJ. I think Claudia's best dances have been her Charleston, which was brilliant and her Ballroom. She bounced back from the Jive so I think most people move on quite quickly and outside of the forums and social media people don't seem to scrutinise as much. I'm pretty sure my Gran would've been sat at home with a glass of Brandy, loving every dance, saying how good they all are.

I'm so pleased they have the AS a great wow dance...if they get the right music! Lift overload next week.

As long as the song choices are good, AS and Salsa could both be brilliant dances. Give them something classic Hollywood like Mr Bojangles or Me and My Shadow please and put Danny in tails again.

Also, judging from Kevin's comment about needing to learn the two dances on Monday, I wouldn't want to be Danny tomorrow! I don't want to guess how many hours they're going to do this week!

ETA Danny looked so nervous when he was waiting for the results tonight. I genuinely don't think he realises just how good a dancer he is and how much support he has.

Great news on next week's dances! Hope they are as wow as they have the potential to be.

So relieved Danny and Oti are through - they'll need all our votes next week as it is going to be v close.

I did feel sorry for him, he looked quite scared as if it was going to be him in the dance off. Not nice leaving top of the leader board till last to find out he is into the SF!!

Re the lifts next week, there's no rules that they have to be spectacular. In fact, in the AS I rather like the understated lifts that flow with the (hopefully, fantastically suitable) music.
(Who's up for bribing the dart throwing music choosing monkeys with me)?
My gut says Oti will aim for classy AS + all out party salsa as a way of producing 2 different dances, for maximum impact.

As mentioned upthread a salsa that's the complete opposite to what we're used to seeing on scd could be the way to go. Got to save some impressive lifts for the show dance if they make it to the final. Basically, nail the salsa technique and bring the heat. I reckon Oti could choreograph her own salsa routine but if it's an outside choreographer someone other than Oksana's husband - his salsa choreo for Ore and JR wasn't very good. At least with the AS the style of dance whether it be foxtrot or QS is familiar so that's a bonus.

As pathetic as it sounds because its only a TV show with no lasting consequences, I will be quite teary and disappointed if they don't win. They have just been on another level compared to the others.

Not pathetic in the slightest, If you look at it from the pros perspective it is a title they share whenever they can it is great for fees publicity, On K Hardy site she still puts it up there as an achievement .

In our case Danny might have more confidence to take on dance work might even get it offered ( Georgia, Pixie)
Going back to Oti when you look at the pictures from dancing schools (UK) how many young kids , other then white kids partake to exam/ medal level they say very few, so I hope whoever runs ballroom in UK uses Oti to attract ethnic minorities into ballroom my wishes for these two hehehe

Very happy to hear what the dance choices are ... just hope I'll be as happy with the song choices! Please, please, please let them have good songs.
