The wait for tunes on Tuesday is going to be unbearable. These could be such good dances but it's all going to hinge on what music they get. Like others have said, I want a classic beautiful AS and a massive party Salsa.
(Also I am very prepared for the semi-final tango(s) to get appropriate dramatic music)

Someone has updated the Strictly wiki page and Danny has now overtaken Harry, Abbey, Kara and Rachel in the average score rankings. His average is 35.82 and only Natalie, Alesha and Ricky are ahead of him.

Their tweets really do showcase their friendship. Among many other things, what's stood out to me about Danny & Oti has been their fab dynamic as a partnership - and I really think that chemistry sets them apart from the other remaining couples.


Wow That's truly impressive. Hoping he can edge past Ricky as I think he's easily the best male celeb we've had.

I forgot to mention last week that I was really happy that Danny's favorite dance till this date is their quickstep (for me it is a tie between that and their samba). It was so, so good and they really were robbed of at least 1 10 so I hope they chose it AGAIN in the Finals as their favorite dance of the series. Although I have to wonder if people will feel really disappointed if they dont choose their Samba; It seems to be the " dance of the series " for a lot of people; even those who are not necessarily Danny fans.

There seems to be some sort of rule that couples do not perform a dance that they did less than three weeks previously. Would this preclude the samba?

Are they allow to pick their Samba as their favourite dance? I thought that they weren't allow to pick dances from the last few weeks.

The judges pick might be the Cha Cha. They got 31 or the Foxtrot. I'm sure that Frankie did her Wicked dance in the final but they tweaked things because they originally did the dance during a theme week. Did I imagine that?

Certainly that rule was in place last year, hadn't heard it before then.

Not sure how many of you venture downstairs, but our Danny seems to be winning a few over. (About time too). I'm finally seeing others comment he seems a genuinely nice guy, and how they loved his 1st reaction to being called safe was to go straight over to Rinder rather than celebrate.

People have definitely done dances from week 10 in the final before - Caroline's Charleston springs to mind. If they get there, I think a lot will depend on judges' choice. Two ballrooms probably wouldn't be best when Danny's strength is latin and Louise is praised for her ballroom. A cha cha cha and a quickstep though would be great and my preferred choice. I don't think Frankie did. I checked and wiki said she did samba and paso (possibly for that exact reason).

I've noticed that too, Fairytootoo. I thought that moment said a lot about Danny's character and I'm glad it has been noticed by others.
Also, the samba has now broken half a million views on YT!

I think the strongest combo would be QS and Samba, so don't mind which of those Doti opt for & the judges as long as it's those two dances!

Would remind viewers of his smooth classiness in ballroom (as some seem to be saying he's too frantic which I think has become the lazy go-to criticism) & sheer wow factor in both too. Such different styles - both so memorable.

If it is the same as last year the judges choose the perceived weakest dance (QS for Jay!) and the couple choose their favourite and the showdance.

Abiding by that reasoning, the judges will probably choose the foxtrot or even the cha cha cha and Danny and Oti would choose the QS.

The Charleston to me is being overshadowed by the Samba, that charleston really had some strong elements in it also ,loved the way Oti Choreographed it to exhibit Danny's strength, in the sequence with the extra dancers it showed his progress to my mind like a great big light he held his own with them and did not look out of place I would not be surprised if she did that deliberately

IF they make it to the final I think the judges will pick the Cha Cha Cha they will not pick a Halloween theme week dance (as I've said before, if they did it would be a 1st!) and D&O will pick their QS as on ITT last week Danny again said it was his favourite dance.

Even if they could pick the Samba I really don't think they would, it's already scored 40 so they can't improve on perfection. The judges scores don't count in the final but they still score the dances so D&O would be under more pressure to produce a perfect dance again and there will be enough pressure being in the final as it is (if they make it of course!).

I wouldn't be surprised if they got 'Mack the Knife' for their American Smooth. I was expecting them to give him that song way before now. Caroline and Pasha did one to the same song a couple of years ago.

I would love to see the Cha Cha again.

I would say Cha Cha or Jive. Jive if they want to nobble him. Danny did say his legs were still hurting when on ITT after the Jive and the same would probably happen again! But I think it will be Cha Cha (of course they have to get there first!!)

Mack the Knife would be a good choice for an AS also for the obvious reason, but would it be too soon as Caroline only danced to it 2 series ago. It was bad enough that they gave Claudia the same dance and music (Samba) that Matt had back in 2010!

If it the Cha Cha, they will get a good reaction from the studio audience. Last time, it did . I can't believe that I was in the studio when he did that dance. I was impressed by it.

Darcey saying on ITT tonight that she regretted not giving Danny's quickstep a 10 was lovely. I think it benefited him in the long run but it's nice to hear she can see how good it was. If they're lucky enough to make the final, I really hope they reprise it as their favourite dance.

It was nice to hear Darcy on IT2 tonight give such positive comments about Danny. It doesn't seem to happen very often on that show. Also loved hearing her say she wished she had given a 10 to Danny for his quickstep, makes me feel that if he gets to the final the judges might choose that as their 'Judges Choice'.

Also loved hearing her say how his focus close up is so intense as is his connection with Oti. That's how it looks to me when l watch his dances and see them as a partnership on IT2 so l'm glad to see it's particularly noticeable in person.

Great minds think alike As you said, it's nice to hear positive things about Danny on ITT. I thought it was clear from Darcey's comments that she's got a lot of respect for Danny and what he's achieved with Oti.

I loved Darcey's comments about Danny tonight on ITT she was quite animated about him but it was better that he didn't get 10's for the QS so early in the series.

Lots of lovely comments about #TeamDoti two days running. I also loved Len's comments about Oti's use of the backing dancers for their Tango. Basically it was a masterclass in how to use extra dancers to good effect and I think Oti did that brilliantly for Musicals week and at Blackpool, the best out of everyone.

Just watched a re-run of Gogglebox where they were watching Danny and Oti do the samba and have to say it was hilarious! I'm sure Danny must have watched it behind the sofa blushing like crazy at some of those comments and facial expressions. I actually fear for him walking down the street and meeting fans like them as they looked like they wanted to eat him!
