It's a rumba-off between the two so-called ringers complete with piano ballads and cover versions aplenty. Think Oti may opt for the contempo-rumba which will likely play to Danny's strengths. While Louise needs a standout performance if Kevin produces a Kellie Bright like routine she could have a special dance on her hands.

He has the potential to deliver a stunning Rumba, he does extend to such lovely lines.
Sadly Rumba isn't usually a 10 dance, regardless how good it is, so I don't expect them to top the leaderboard. Should be close though, fingers crossed!”

I would love to see a beautiful rumba. I'm not too bothered about the 10s at the moment. It's so early and I would prefer to see 10s at a later stage. If he's near enough to the top of the table, I would be happy. Takes the pressure off.

Yes, I think you're right there. Louise is a very good dancer, beautiful lines, very graceful. I think she will be technically very good. It's just down to whether she can sell it!!!

I think you're right also with regard to Danny and Oti. I expect, and hope, for some sort of contemporary rumba......I think it would suit him. He has such musicality and rhythm. Might get a glimpse on IT2 tomorrow.

This exactly! Though disappointed with the fuss the judges made of Ores jive, it was rather nice for someone else to be top, to take the pressure off, as you said.

Although it is lovely for the celebrity to get 10s, it isn't a pre-requisite for a winner. Jay never got a 10 from Craig! The 10s for Ore were completely OTT in my opinion.

Oti was great on ITT , wished Danny could come over with a fun smile , he always looks in earnest , funny enough when in hold ( dancing) he looks in a comfort zone

Just caught up, me too. Actually thought he came across more relaxed tonight too.
Oti's such a joy, they really are developing into a lovely partnership

ETA my comment about 10's earlier were truly a generalization of Rumba scores over the years. Thought Oti's deflection of the QS score was 1st rate too

Just watched their latest appearance on ITT thought they came across sprightly and very at ease with each other. It looks like their rumba will have a contemporary feel which I don't mind one bit especially when it's danced well and the choreography is tip-top. Also Ian's tips were spot on, if he perfects his technique in the two areas Ian mentioned this rumba could be beyond amazing.

Loved Danny and Oti on IT2. They have great banter between them. Oti looked fabulous. Beautiful dress. The Rumba looks good, (so long as he doesn't dance it like a girl!!!)(I'd like to put a smiley here, but can't find one!!!) As per Ian, he just needs to finish his lines.

Looking through the threads, Danny has been described as smug, arrogant, cocky, false modesty............I really can't see any of that. I think he's been really honest. If he finds it difficult, he says, and if it's going well, he says. He seems genuinely surprised and delighted to receive the comments, especially after the VW and the paso.

Love Oti's training methods......................start from the bottom up!!

Really enjoyed their interview on ITT they do seem to get on really well. Even though on Saturday I didn't agree with the scores I am glad he got the score he did and didn't get 10s.

I agreed with you on here about the claims about Danny being cocky, smug and arrogant not seeing that at all I am just seeing seeing someone who loves dancing and honestly says how he feels and finds the dance.

Regarding Rumba I am excited to see it as I feel it could be a very good dance for him

On Thursday I went to the bank and saw one of the bank staff who loves Strictly and she asked me who I liked. When I said Danny, she agreed absolutely.

The same thing happened at the chiropodist! She said she couldn't believe his Cha Cha!

I think it's going to be another good week........everyone looks good, even Ed (suits him better) . Danny's clip of the rumba yesterday on IT2 looked really good. I hope he can throw in the emotion!! I'm a little excited!!!!!!! Actually, I hope the rest of the pros can dance, after reading the news this morning. Sickness and all that!

Not many people into Strictly where I work Gill. I can't have the chats, which is very annoying. My sister and I love it and would be on the same page. She's a Greg fan, but I may persuade her otherwise if he goes!!!!

Not a supporter of any couple in particular, but as a dancer myself, just wanted to add how much I enjoyed the QS last week. It was of the highest quality for a Strictly contestant and I was disappointed for them, that they did not receive at least 1 or 2 10's. It really deserved them. Danny, unlike most male celebs, does look comfortable in hold and I think his footwork was rather good. It was very light across the floor with great movement. He tried to show sway ( in the wrong way) but he is so very promising, with lovely posture, charisma and floor presence. I have high hopes for the rumba and wish them well tonight.

Couldn't agree more with you Jennifer. His QS reminded me of Ricky Whittle's. Ricky danced it with sheer joy and I got the same from Danny. Interesting about the sway. I thought Len did give a little nod of the head when he mentioned the sway!!!! Yes, I was trying to figure whether that was a good or bad thing!!!

I also have high hopes for the rumba tonight. Let's hope he can nail it!

Love hearing comments from dancers (any more in here)?
Would be very happy if you would come back after tonight to give us unbiased feedback on the Rumba please?
I do know some basics but always good to hear more knowledgeable people's opinions.
Looking forward to tonight

Yes there should be sway, but Danny used his arms and upper body to create the look / the effect. Quite a natural thing for a ballroom beginner to do, but it all comes from the terrific stretch from the other side. There is a saying in ballroom, that you should never shorten the sides. Contrary to what Len said, I could not see much if any swing, but of course we, the viewers don't see the full picture due to the appalling camerawork.

I won't be seeing the show live tonight as I'm out seeing Vincent & Flavia in their Last Tango tour in London so I won't be able to catch up until tomorrow. I'll try and report in when I can, but I'm a ballroom lady really but do know the basics of latin having danced it years ago before I decided to specialise in ballroom

Wow, ballroom is so so technical. Thanks Jennifer for the explanation. (I'm not sure I fully understand about the stretch from the other side, but it's probably far easier to get it if you're shown). I agree about the camerawork................it can certainly spoil the effect and the enjoyment if they don't get it right.

Enjoy Vincent and Flavia. I've see them over here in Dublin and it's just a brilliant show.
