Anyone else felt emotional after re-watching that American smooth

I know I'm biased as they're my faves, but how can you watch something like that American Smooth or the Samba and not be blown away?!

It was WOW...WOW and WOW again!!! The more it's watched the better it gets and the middle left just looks better and better and the catch...well words fail..AMAZING and just shows the trust Oti has in Danny.

I don't think the judges did Danny any favours tonight re undermarking claudia as I think people gave her their votes instead of Danny! We shall wait and see, but my gut feeling isn't feeling great!
I'm another long standing spoilerite, but please, no hinting of any sort outside of the spoiler thread, I'd hate for it not to be there next year.

I've been looking forward to Danny and Oti's AS all week and l wasn't disappointed! Started with a beautiful song, gorgeous dress and a great choice of VW for the styling. We then got great choreography, a brilliant story and a chemistry to bring tears to the eyes!
I've always been more of a Gene Kelly fan over Fred Astaire but l've never seen a dancer who was able to channel both these greats before. His QS was all Fred Astaire (hoping this will be chosen for the judges choice should they reach the final), light footed, dazzling with lots of swing and sway. His AS felt like a vibrant, classy emotional Gene Kelly with dazzle, class and excitement in equal measures. That last lift seem to defy gravity!
I was a little disappointed in their salsa but l kind of expected that as he didn't really have the time he would have liked to polish the technique. I also think he preferred to concentrate on the AS so he could give a more emotionally charged performance that would resonate with his audience. He definitely succeeded there - with me at least if no one else.

I've lost count of how many times I've watched that AS now, but I think it will end up surpassing the number of times I've watched their samba. It not only gave me goosebumbs, it actually made my scalp tingle
I loved their VW, so I was really pleased they based their AS on the dance- Danny manages to have real grace as well as power when he moves around the floor, and you saw it again here, only even more improved. I also absolutely loved how he used his arms- that too has really improved over the series. Gorgeous contempo-wafting
But on top of the usual amazing technique, there was just absolutely beautiful chemistry and story telling here, without it ever tipping over into mawkishness or sentimentality. I think the odd little smile here and there just kept it the right side of OTT emoting for me.

And after such outstanding use of a jetty, I never want to see boring use of tables in any future dances ever again...

I think Danny and Oti will choose the Quickstep as their dance of choice. I don't think they will want to recreate the joyousness of the samba in the final. Then, hopefully, it will get the tens it deserved the first time round.
