I'm fairly certain that Jay & Aliona "let it slip" early on in the week that they'd be given the Quickstep - can't remember about the other 3 pairs.......................

Don't get despondent everyone. Danny is now doing this for himself and Claudia and there are a lot of Claudia fans saying they will now vote for Danny. I do think it could work in their favour being in the dance-off as they are not favourites now so it hopefully will spur people to vote who may have assumed he was the dead cert to win.

In some ways I hope the judges pick the QS for their choice which could/should mean a re-run for the Samba because I think they will have to bring it to the final to pull in floating voters. I would expect Louise to reprise her AT and Ore will probably do either Jive or his Singing In The Rain ballroom dance so Danny needs the big number for the wow factor and that has to be the Samba.

I'd love the Samba Matt&Alionafan but have visions of last years new rule being reprised, since Danny, like Jay, isn't the 'chosen one'

No one could reprise a dance which took place three weeks prior to the final.

Samba and Quickstep would be a dream. Someone who was at the live show on Saturday said Ore chose the Jive as his favourite dance and Louise chose the Argentine Tango but they didn't get to hear Danny's pick.

I think you're right about them needing an impactful dance and that would be the Samba. It is only 20,000 views away on YouTube from overtaking Ed's Salsa as the dance of the series.

Would they be allowed to do the Samba again?

That was a new rule as at least in one of the earlier years a couple did an SF/QF dance again. I think I'm right on that.

Will be very interesting to see what happens with that one. Unless of course the judges would like to see the Samba again then it will be a case of rule, what rule!

My absolute dream for the final would be the Quickstep and Samba. Along with an dramatic Showdance, in the style of an AT or Paso, or something similar rather than the usual Disco bollocks.

That way they have the class of the Quickstep, fun of the Samba and intensity of the Showdance.

Whatever happens I'm delighted we have the chance to see all their dances.

I was a big fan of Claudia and voted for her loads of times and am gutted she was eliminated. Danny deserved to go through over her but I really feel they both should not have been in the DO. Going to vote for Danny in the final. Think Louise and Ore have been really overmarked and bigged up by the judges week after week. Danny was also really undermarked for a while as they didn't want to give him 10s too early.

It was definitely a new rule last year, everyone suspected TPTB we're trying to 'persuade' Jaliona to do their Jive

Agree with this and think they'd have the wow factors across all the dances & enough different styles to appeal to any floating voters with those picks.

The showdance could be tricky precisely because Danny can nail nearly everything ha, but I do think a disco Latin could be underwhelming against what I'm assuming will be a standard classy Ballroom from Louise & Gene Kelly try from Ore.

I would like a show dance that is not too fast and frenetic but smooth and flowing. I actually think a ballroom based show dance would be lovely as ballroom suits Danny so well.

If for any reason they don't do the QS then a QS based show dance would be the answer with added twists as it still gives them speed around the floor.

There's a chance that Oti might go for a fast showdance because I think that it's obvious that Kevin and Joanne will go for a ballroom one.

Regarding the showdance, is it known how music selection works?

I'd hope they'd choose a style and then the producers give them music to fit that style rather then giving them music and Oti having to adapt a showdance to fit into the music.

I just have a feeling if they are given the music that they'll get something inappropriate or be forced into the usual disco showdance whole Ore/Jo will get the Ballroom and Tails combo ala Tom Chambers.

If anyone watched ITT can you let me know if it's worth watching please? Thanks. I've recorded it but I might just watch the bits worth watching with Doti in this week. Not sure I'm in the mood for listening to other hype after the dance-off at the weekend.

My Nan tried to vote for Danny, he's also my step-mum's favourite and her mum. My colleagues at work love Danny too. Some of them think that people just assumed Danny was safe.

I think people may have voted for Ore because he was in the bottom two in the quarter-final. With Louise I think people like her and probably voted for her because she was in the bottom two in the semi-final. I do think what the judges say influences how the audience votes and it probably did at the weekend, particularly Len's reference to the gymnastic and musical theatre experience that some have i.e.Claudia and Danny. I'm hoping that now the producers or judges have the final three they wanted, they'll play fair in the final. They must know that Danny is the best dancer Strictly's ever had.

I think who wins may well come down to the show dance. As all three seem to be popular??? I can't imagine Danny being unpopular because as one of my colleagues said "he's the one you want to watch." From what I remember Rachel Stevens was popular and very good but her show dance wasn't, which may have cost her the title.

I'm hoping that the dance-off will take the pressure off him so that he relaxes and enjoys this wonderful partnership in the final week.

That Oti seems to make a natural end to her dances they never seem disjointed the story line can become so clear Saturdays AS as an example just wonderful lucky Danny, Lucky Oti also I suppose for finding a worker perfectionist

We just know this will happen On the plus side, we've got so many absolutely incredible performances to watch back again and again and hopefully Danny & Oti will give us a few more on Saturday. I think the celebs have some input in the song chosen for their showdance. Certainly 'Angels' was on the list of songs Caroline gave to Pasha and I can't imagine anyone in production would have come up with 'I Can't Feel My Face When I'm With You' There IS something Gene Kellyish about Danny and I hope they exploit that but then Ore will probably be doing that with his AS

I absolutely don't understand it. Danny dances with his heart and soul. Louise dances self consciously .. like she would rather be at home serving up apple pie .. it's all a bit embarrassed .. and yet the judges rave! Ore both ran about like a loon and then stood still. The only other person who I thought was truly committed to the dance was Claudia in her QS.
It's so disappointing that the public didn't vote for Danny or not in the quantity needed anyway. Not sure I can face the final. Think I might wait until I know the result (but vote of course .. at the appropriate time) and then either watch the show back or just the bits I want to (ie: The Danny and Oti bits )
Hope it takes the pressure off of them a bit (the dance off I mean, not me not watching!! ) and that they just decide to squeeze every last ounce of enjoyment out of it!

Danny is a big Michael Jackson fan, this could perhaps be a possibility in his show dance? He has so many strengths, I'm sure Oti will play to them.

I was thinking it could be a Michael Jackson track for their show dance. To my mind he only made three very good albums (controversial I know ), and all of those I think before Danny was even born!

TeamDoti on ITT tomorrow night. There are a few clips of them practising the catch in tonight's behind the scenes footage and for one of them he nearly dropped Oti! You hear a few sharp intakes of breath in the background and there was no crash mat!

If the Quickstep isn't chosen as one of their dances then that would potentially be fab in a show dance, although I'd love the judges to choose that for the judges choice.

He must have been nervous enough doing it the first time...but there felt like a long anxious time before they had to do it again, especially knowing that!
