Knew it. Knew, knew it, knew it.

Don't think any of my favourites have won a reality show this year.

Gutted!

I still think even with the mistake in the QS they were the best dancers. They're still my winners and the best dancers I've ever seen on Strictly.

Could see it going this way earlier tonight, but so disappointed. They really should've won - such a great partnership and so many memorable dances from these two.

If they had any chance at all - I don't think they had - then it went for a burton in the Quickstep. It wasn't marked harsher because it's the final but the die was cast at that point.

But he made up for it - the showdance and the Samba were both terrific.

Slightly gutted about the result Danny and Oti may have not won with the public but they were my winners and are my favourite ever partnership.

Going to miss Danny and Oti dancing together but they were fantastic

Knew they wouldn't win. I'm disappointed but my favourites have never won a talent show before.

They did us proud tonight. I loved all of their dances. They smashed the Samba and showdance.

I'm looking forward to seeing them on the tour.

From the moment they went wrong in the QS, I knew that Ore would win. Ore produced three great routines; Danny produced two. I think I'm most disappointed for Oti because she was amazing this year and I would love to have seen her lift that glitterball.

It's been a fabulous series and Danny and Oti have brought me so much joy. I have loved watching them dance every week. It's been ten years and I still watch Mark and Karen's dances; I am sure I'll be doing the same with Danny and Oti's a decade from now. Every dance, interview, instagram post - they have all made me smile, laugh and feel grateful for such a brilliant pairing. They are, in every single way, my winners, and I will always remember this very special partnership.

Also thank you to everyone on this thread. I hadn't watched Strictly in years and I'm not sure why I chose to watch this year's but I am glad I did. It's been lovely to be able to spend the past few months chatting about Danny and Oti with you all. You all made this experience even more special.

I probably won't be on DS again for a while as I only signed back on - after six years - to chat all things Team Doti. So have a lovely Christmas and a brilliant 2017. I'm off to the last night of the tour in February so I shall make sure to cheer extra loudly for our fabulous couple.

I'm interested to see what happens there. After Tom Chambers beat Rachel Stevens, she won most of the tour dates, as though the audience wanted to compensate her.

I think, with their Samba against Ore and Joanne's Jive it's very much going to be a head to head between them... unless Ed is doing it and nails Gangnam Style?

One thing - I hope Danny doesn't dwell and beat himself up about that. I think the die was cast even before he danced and that didn't really matter but I can see him thinking 'if only'.

Yes was gutted about the QS, I wonder if the voting was close or not?

I do think that all of the first dances were marked quite generously. I loved Doti's Showdance and Samba.

Danny has been the best dancer Strictly has ever had in my opinion. Hopefully we will get to see him in a musical next year.

Thank you Danny and Oti for being just brilliant all series!

Thanks to all on this thread for your wise words and mutual Doti appreciation. ❤️

I think this too...and when the judges chose Ore's dance as his Singin' in the Rain one and had invited Gene Kelly's widow to be in the audience I kind of gave up hoping (although still voted). That's ok Ore did well tonight.

Oti and Danny's showdance was brilliant...so exciting...I loved it. And the samba was even better this time, shame about the qs but nobodies perfect.

Danny seemed genuinely pleased for Ore and Joanne so I'll try to be!

The tribute to Len made me well up.

Thanks to Danny and Oti for a memorable series...I wish we could see them learn some more dances though.

I just hope Danny doesnt beat himself up about the QS and not winning for Oti even if he did the QS with no mistakes I still think he would have been runner up.

I will miss watching Danny & Oti every week as thy have given so many good dances but looking forward to seeing them on tour,

Oti's choreography is sheer brilliance in all but for me it's the Samba. Breathtakingly staggering! I pretty much guessed it would go the way it has with the final result but it's been a pleasure watching Danny and Oti.

The (sad) thing I'm wondering now is whether Danny and Oti ever had public support. Most weeks they were high on the leaderboard so didn't need a high public vote; the only week where they were low they were saved alongside Ore who fell into two Dance Offs afterwards (albeit they have now won).

Mind you I guess it would be worse if the BBC released the results and my thoughts were proven. Ignorance sometimes is bliss.

I agree. I voted for Jay last year but I didn't enjoy his Showdance as much and I wasn't sure if he'd win even though he was by far the best over the series. It would've been nice for Danny to top the leaderboard tonight but this might not have made a difference to the outcome.

Ore did well but the dances I will remember are Danny and Oti's and in my opinion nothing comes close to what they have done this series.

I agree.

I'm disappointed that they didn't win but not too disappointed because I didn't expect them to win.

At least, Len will be very happy with the result.

Gutted for Danny tonight, I was voting for Claudia (still upset she never made the final) but gave all my votes to Danny tonight, thought he did great and I loved their showdance. Well done Ore and Joanne though.
Next year I am determined to be ambivilant about everyone!!!

I felt watching that Danny and Oti did another fabulous and complicated routine in the showdance and they changed the Quickstep to take out the bit at the top from last time (which I'd loved) and included more dance steps.
And maybe in one week which had all the extra press, radio, tv stuff... simpler might have been easier. But that's part of why I love them...they never take the easy option.

This is the way am looking at it: Yes, they didn't win but out of Ore/Joanne and Danny/Oti, which couple do you think that people will be talking about in years to come? Danny and Oti. They pushed boundaries and were a good partnership off screen. Danny and Oti were able to showcase Oti's fantastic choreography.

Also, I think that they will do well on the tour.

It's horrible - most people would become more relaxed about the result the more time passes. I'm getting more annoyed/upset about it. Trust me to be different.

I have accepted it but I can understand why it's still annoying.

My hotel wifi allowed me to watch all of Doti's dances - that show dance will be a new regular to revisit on YT, that was yet another WOW moment they gave us.
Managed to see 2 of Louise's dances + only 1 of Ores.
I'm another who didn't expect them to win, despite deserving to, but yes, they're my winners too, possibly my new favourite SCD partnership ever!
I applaud Oti for her innovative choreography, for not making it easy and pushing Danny to his limits. I applaud Danny for working so hard and allowing Oti to show how fabulous she is.
Bravo #TeamDoti, and thanks

Gutted for them

Like others have said, I hope he doesn't beat himself up for the mistakes in the Quickstep as I don't think they would have won anyway even if he had aced it. It's a shame he went wrong as it was his favourite dance but he does seem to struggle with nerves. I get the impression he doesn't realise how much real support he actually has out there!

I knew Ore would win as soon as I found out he was doing his American Smooth. It's not the fact that they didn't win that gets me, it's the fact that Oti may never get this chance again and even if she does and ends up winning it, it won't be with Danny. I have loved their partnership so much and can't wait to see them on the tour. Anyone going?

Lastly, I just want to say thank you to everyone on this thread for making this a thoroughly enjoyable series
