Look what happens in reel life competitions. There are 6 couples in the final, over 5 dances and they are placed 1st - 6th. Just because you are 6th, it does not make you a bad dancer, you have to be good to get to a final, however the judges just preferred other dancers over you. You will never know how difficult that decision but the judges is, it may have been easy or not. My point is, that viewers just preferred Ore on the day, that doesn't mean that they or we think that Danny is awful. No, not at all, I think he is fabulous. a great natural talent.”

It weren't just your comments that came against negatively. Some people were implying that Oti choreograph was all the same which isn't true. Other people were saying that they couldn't do calm dances. Did people not see the Rumba or the American Smooth? Even their Salsa wasn't overly fast. Then there were comments saying that Danny's technique wasn't that good. If his technique was as bad as people made out, the judges would have picked up on it more often.

This series was made by Danny & Oti no other partnership will ever bring me the joy and the quality in dance they have this year

Can't wait to see them on the tour in Birmingham”

Agreed with your first paragraph.

I don't want to have a favourite couple next year.

Still kind of disappointed they didn't win I think people just voted before the Showdance and Samba which is a shame as they were the best 2 Dances of the night!
I'm going to really miss watching them every Saturday, Will have to just keep rewatching their dances on YT
Well Done to Jo & Ore for Winning Though! Must admit they were great last night!

Me neither! I felt "off" all day and then, when Danny mucked up the QS I suddenly felt much calmer. Very weird, I know, but it was probably because I could see they weren't going to win.

This is going to sound stupid, but when I saw that Danny and Oti were standing on the right during the result, I got Simon Webbe vibes. I was like this isn't a good sign.

Still gutted for Danny - I know how much he wanted to lift that trophy for Oti. I'm sorry it's taken ages to get the photos up from the live show - there were just a lot of them ! But they're all published now if you want to see them in glorious technicolour. Personally I love the still images because you really can see the tiny details.

At the end of the day, I am disappointed that Danny and Oti didn't win and it doesn't matter a jot to me that Ore danced better on the night. He didn't touch me, his dances didn't move me and I didn't believe in the partnership with Jo either.

Danny on the other hand did.

I will remember, and revisit, so many of Danny's dances; the joy in his face and the surprise when his efforts paid off. I can recall one of Ore's I truly loved and that was his singing in the rain routine.

I am really glad that strictly introduced Danny Mac to me as I had never seen him before. But i am eternally grateful that the powers to be had the foresight to pair Danny with Oti. She has been a complete breath of fresh air and i don't think anyone else could have brought so much out of Danny.

It's been thrilling - and heartbreaking - to have had such a strong favourite. It's been many years for me since i had one.

Thank you Danny and Oti.

Thanks. Where can we view the pictures please?

Danny didn't win for Oti but he still enabled her to showcase her choreography. I'm sure that Oti really appreciates him for that.
They have won in a different sense.

Well said ! I agree that Danny & Oti's dances touched me in a way that none of the others did. Perhaps he just wanted it too much - for Oti more than himself I think - and that cost him a perfect score on the night. The intensity of their showdance, I think, showed just how much it mattered to them.

I had never heard of Danny before the show, and what I've loved watching so much is his genuine love for the show and for dancing. He really does seem like a nice guy. Someone genuine in a celeb world where everything is turning a bit cardboard for me. Too guarded, not enough personality.
Such a shame. However must he be feeling today ?

What a team @LouiseRedknapp & @keviclifton!
Congrats on an awesome series. It was an honour to share that final with you guys. x

What I love about Danny is he is very gracious in defeat he isn't the person who people think he is

Oh, absolutely ! I'm not sure whether Danny made clear his motivation for doing Strictly - for example I know Louise wanted to develop her confidence after being home so long - I don't recall hearing anything from Danny. And overall, I really don't recall seing much in the way of interviews with Danny or Oti but I might have missed them, depending on where they'd be published. Every Saturday I seem to recall seeing long interviews with the others, but as long as Danny achieved his aims, he's a total winner.

He did the show because he was afraid to do it. He was scared to be himself in front of the camera.

Crikey ! Thanks for that, I had no idea.

Well, I'll be looking out for him now to see what he does next. I don't think he needed to win in order to boost his career (if it needs a boost - he did say he'd be unemployed tomorrow); the fact that he's shown himself has probably helped enormously and of course he's now known to many more people.

I agree.

I hope that he does a musical.

Right now, he needs a good rest and to enjoy Christmas. It will be the tour soon.

Have to say that dannymaconline & @OtiMabuse were one of the BEST couples I've seen in any @DancingABC or @bbcstrictly series! Love you

Last nights final was Matt Baker all over again and I suffered enough during that one, but this one was miles worse!!

My only main complaint about the whole final business is that Danny was just treated as being there to make up the numbers. On BBC Breakfast yesterday and in the newspaper press it was just all about the sibling rivalry which was newspaper and TV talk not from Kevin or Jo, and Danny was completely ignored which made me so angry.

Now that is off my chest I feel much better.

In terms of the dance I think, particularly for a show like Strictly, performance is important - probably even more so than technqiue. For me Danny and Oti performed the best throughout the competition and have given me many routines which will stick in the mind for a long time moving forward. It's just a shame it wasn't enough for the win but different strokes for different folks. ”

Danny will be fine! How could he not? He is a wonderful dancer, a lovely singer too, and above all, a really lovely bloke! (Gorgeous too and very easy on the eye) that Samba will go down in strictly history and I have to say personally he is the only one I would pay good money to see!x

So glad to see all these amazing comments about Danny after some of the vile horrible things I've read about him on other threads. I still cannot get my head around the result, but in my eyes, and I'm sure in many of yours, Danny and Oti are the TRUE WINNERS of this series, it being a dance competition after all.
They have wowed week after week, not let negative press about him being a ringer and being trained get to them and they are the couple who deserved to win. I am sure that their partnership will go down in strictly history as the best ever, and the fact that people on social media are upset by the result last night makes me sure that they are the true winners.
At least we'll have the youtube videos forever!

Absolutely agree! You only have to look at the views for Samba alone! Doti pure class, up there with the best of them! First 40 for a Samba ever, do I need to say anything more!xx

Exactly, look at the views for the show dances last night, for example, theirs has almost double the amount of views on Ore and Joanne's - says it all in my book!

Knowing how much I wanted Danny to win. I hate to say it but it will probably serve him and his career better not having won! People will forget who won eventually but a partnership like Danny & Oti had and their amazing dances will live on long in the memory of many people and their Samba (I will also add their Charleston) will go down in Strictly history and be talked about long into the future as it has set the standard for all who enter the world of Strictly and will take a very special celeb to match it.
