As bruised as I am by him not winning, I do think you're right. If he had won, there would have been the inevitable negative comments about him being a ringer and having had previous experience and bla bla bla. Him not winning will undoubtedly bring him successes I am sure, would bet good money that Craig is just itching to work with him in the future. I just feel so so disappointed because they are the first couple who I've felt a genuine connection with for some reason, I feel sad to the point of pain (may seem dramatic I know) that they didn't win because I knew that they wholly deserved to go the whole way. I also feel that Oti deserved to win because her choreography has blown my mind this year, all boundaries have been pushed!

I agree.

I'm kinda over the fact that they didn't win. I think it's because I knew deep down that they wouldn't. That didn't stop me voting though.

I actually think that Danny was Craig's favourite. So I agree that he will probably get work through that route.

You know what, stuff it. We're not going to change it so we have to look for the positives. We got to see and embrace a stunning dancing relationship, with superb choreography and absolute commitment from both throughout. Yes, maybe at times their dance style wasn't to the tastes of all but they didn't compromise or look to change and maybe it actually showcased Danny in the best light for the future?

Now time for the tour and then we'll have to see what the next steps bring for him and the next year for Oti. But I'll be watching and hoping, as I think we all will.

Great training vid Oti has just put up on Instagram of their salsa ... just brilliant. It looked even better than the performance (so casual and natural.)
Sorry I can't link!
Also, she's off on vacation by the looks of it (Instagram story.)

I still cannot get my head around the result, but in my eyes, and I'm sure in many of yours, Danny and Oti are the TRUE WINNERS of this series, it being a dance competition after all.
They have wowed week after week, not let negative press about him being a ringer and being trained get to them and they are the couple who deserved to win. I am sure that their partnership will go down in strictly history as the best ever, and the fact that people on social media are upset by the result last night makes me sure that they are the true winners.
At least we'll have the youtube videos forever!”

I don't understand the hate Danny received on some of the threads on here he didn't deserve it either because he was a terrific dancer and a lovely guy.

Even though he didn't win it I think Danny will do very well career wise now because he is a triple threat he can sing, act, dance and also gorgeous.

For me he and Oti will go down as the best couple ever and some of the dances they created will go down in the history books e.g. Samba, Charleston, Jive, Cha Cha, American Smooth, Quickstep, Rumba, Argentine Tango and Showdance

I have seen some hateful comments (it is usually the same people) and I've seen many about him being "too good for strictly" (which is a compliment in itself lol) but to be honest the vast majority has been positive. I've seen far more positive comments than negative on facebook, instagram, twitter and youtube. Even on some news sites I have seen a lot of support for them. They really have so much support and they have so many fans. I think that their dances, and partnership, will go down in Strictly history. Those two are sure special They will be remembered.

Same for me. First couple in Strictly that I've enjoyed their partnership. They are special

I had a gut feeling 2 weeks ago they weren't going to win! I used my online votes for him and only him every week, then semi final I prob did 20-30 phone votes, then final night I did the 6 online and also 80 phone votes! Was to to avail, but I supported him from the start, and even tho I knew he wouldn't win I still had to vote, I think I felt I would've let him down if I at least didn't try!lol. Not looking forward to the phone bill next month!lol. Oh sod it, its Christmas!x

I loved that video.

I think that she's off to South Africa.

I liked Danny from the start. After Melvin went, I started internet voting for Danny, Ore and Tameka. He became my sole favourite during one of his early ITT interviews.

For the final, I voted only for Danny. I did internet and phone votes. I called more than 100 times. I checked to find out how much I could afford to run up my phone bill. I had to do my part to try and help them get the trophy.

I agree.

Why didn't they interview him during the competition?

I would be surprised if Danny already has work lined up to promote. In any case, it's still publicity for him. Hopefully more people will become aware of what a nice guy Danny is.

Unfortunately I have work so I won't be able to watch it. If anyone can put it up on YouTube, I would be very grateful.

Hi Guy's, l like many on here l'm still a little disappointed by the result though l'm happy that Danny seems ok about it all and very grateful for the experience. Personally l didn't think he had much of a chance of winning yesterday regardless whether he had aced that QS or not though l still had hope. Despite all the threads and talk of him being robbed elsewhere l think it was better he didn't as l think some of the abuse he would have got would have gone into overdrive!

Danny going wrong in the QS probably also did the BBC a favour as the calls of fix, ringer and favouritism would have amplified particularly after the dubious marking in the semi-final. However, whilst Ore's dances didn't really do anything for me he did execute them well and was a worthy winner so well done Ore and Joanne. (Though l have to say l cringed at all the crying and had to mute the sound as mixed with my disappointment was also a little irritation - Sorry!)

I absolutely loved their showdance and find it a little hard to believe that they didn't have enough support to win when you see their YouTube views which at my last look was on 64,417 views. Though l guess not everyone who views votes. Danny and Oti danced with fire and passion that gave the dance a raw edge that l found exciting and exhilarating. I was unsure about the Adele song choice (not being a particular fan of Adele) but Oti's choreography was brilliant and worked perfectly. Whilst l like Fred Astaire style dances l much prefer dances that push the boundaries a little more. I'm probably one of the few who didn't particularly like Tom Chambers' showdance as l found it clichéd and predictable, however l did like Natalie and Artem's as they gave a more interesting performance.

One thing l have been particularly irritated by is some of the talk about Danny's technique not being good enough. Why is it that there is so much talk about his prior dance training that has made the playing field unfair yet his technique is constantly been criticised as not being particularly great! I have no problem with constructive criticism but Danny was never able to please some downstairs. Either he was too good or he was not good enough. Team that with the talk of arrogance, being smug etc. Danny's chances of winning seemed to get slimmer and slimmer,

Anyway, on a more positive note l'd like to thank Danny and Oti for their wonderful dances and truly beautiful partnership. I've practically been watching their dances everyday for the past three months and l'm probably going to continue for the next couple of months (or at least until my workload becomes major crazy again). I'd also like to thank those on this thread as it's been nice to read and post like minded comments and support for this exceptional couple. Sometimes l don't understand how people can't give their opinions without resorting to abuse, intolerance and catty comments! I also wish you all a very Happy Christmas and wonderful New Year (particularly those of you lucky enough to be going to a tour date)!

They said that it opens at the Theatre Royal in April, we don't have a Theatre Royal in London so I looked online and it seems that it will open in Plymouth, and hopefully move to London later. His fiancée will be his leading lady.

It looks as though Danny is following in Jay's footsteps! Starring in a musical based on a Tom Hanks film, opening in Plymouth, then Dublin, then, hopefully, the West End. I do hope it is as well received as Big the Musical has been.

I think that Strictly was an important stepping stone for the start of a great career as a West End Musical Star, and I am sure that he is going to be an enormous success.

I'm surprised by how deflated I've felt after Danny didn't 'officially' win. I don't have anything against Ore, he is good and he has improved. I just feel that the production team have promoted him from the start and I think he has been overmarked throughout the series. Whereas I feel that they have downplayed Danny with the exception of the Charleston and Samba weeks. Several of Danny's dances have deserved higher scores (Paso, Jive, QS, AT, AS) and I probably would have enjoyed Ore's dances more had the scores been right. That isn't Ore's fault and I wish him well.

Danny and Oti were trending on Twitter on Saturday and on Youtube yesterday.

I do feel better knowing that Danny is going on to bigger and better things. Not only is he the best dancer I've ever seen on Strictly but his acting skills and how he portrayed subtle nuances in the behaviour of the character's he was playing was phenomenal. I hope to see more of him on TV and on stage.

Thanks so much for sharing the info about Danny's interview and the Sleepless in Seattle musical.
