I'm hoping they stay in and would love to see them do the American Smooth at Blackpool. With the big dance floor they could do an amazing AS.
I feel that the tower ballroom floor is best for the fast moving dances like VW and QS. Sadly I think that Danny has done those, but something like a Samba, in latin could work very well too.

Maybe a QS based AS then?
But yes you're right, Blackpool needs dances that cover the floor

They do say that it is a big floor, but in reality its not that big. No doubt in comparison to Elstree where the celebs dance, it is a great deal larger, but the Empress ballroom in the Blackpool Wintergardens is quite a bit larger. When is the Blackpool week ?

No not competitively anymore sadly. "retired" due to injury.

We go up to Blackpool each year for the Nationals, its sad that we are not there competing, but its lovely to go around seeing everyone and catching up on their progress and successes through the year.

Immediately afterwards this year, they hold the WORLD PROFESSIONAL BALLROOM championships which we thorough;y enjoy,

Blackpool is one of the weekends I'm in the ballot for. It's quite possible, that in the HIGHLY unlikely event I get tickets, I might not be able to go now

If so, I'll let you know

I love this song choice. Glad to see you think it's suitable for foxtrot Jennifer.
Just wondering about the theming now, any suggestions?
Bride of Dracula? Lol

Well I like the song but I would not say its a suitable Foxtrot as such but its a pop song that you can dance to, which is all they play on this show. I'm sure Oti will choreograph something amazing - I am very impressed which what she has done so far.

It has been used as a Foxtrot song on Dancing With The Stars don't know how you feel about this routine

Awesome, moody song. I'm seeing a veil (bridal/funeral) and a churchyard so you may be in the right ballpark.

I've only started Ballroom and Latin classes myself in the last year or so (I'm not a young wan) and I'm loving it. My parents would have been ballroom dancers, but the basic type.....no lessons or anything. Are you still able to dance for pleasure??

I'm still trying to get my head around "Take me to Church"......delighted to see it being used. Hozier is from my neck of the woods!!!!

Yes we had competed at a top level ( domestic and International) for many years but we don't compete anymore due to my ankle injury. We do still practice and dance " for fun", and still take lessons to keep our hand in. It really doesn't matter what standard you are, for me, there is nothing more pleasurable than being able to dance any dance to any music - the more beautiful the track the better. Enjoy your classes !

It doesn't look very foxtrotty to me hannah.......looks more like an American Smooth without the lifts!!!! Typical Dancing with the Stars though. I didn't like the singer either, but I am a bit biased. I love Hozier.

Thanks Jennifer. I've always loved music and dancing seems to come fairly naturally to me. I get enormous pleasure from it and I am glad your injury doesn't stop you from doing something you love.

Shame I can't open it up - sure it would be great though. What I mean though, is that none of the songs they have to dance to on SCD are strict tempo. None of the ballroom and latin are...basic jive for example, the timing is 3/4, 1/4 , 1. None of the jives played are this timing, but the tracks played you can still do the same steps but the timing is not quite right, if you get what I mean. Competitive jives (and all dances for that matter) are always played strict tempo.
I'm sure Dave Arch will do a great job with it.

Thank you, yes I do still love it, its all that I have known all my life ( well, mostly), Glad you get so much enjoyment too. I miss getting ready and getting glamourous for comps but its nice to still be involved in some way.
Looking forward to seeing Danny's training video...

I have actually heard this song! Makes a change. I saw a video where someone made a compilation of clips from Daredevil, the Netflix programme, starring Charlie Cox. It was very clever.

Take Me To Church

I am looking forward to this. I am sure it will be much better than the clip shown upthread!
