Six weeks sounds right - four English regions and a Welsh, perhaps? Can't see them splashing out on fares to Northern Ireland, that would take most of their budget.
We'll see. Just thee and me, probably! ![]() Unfortunately I can't watch it live at five so am always on catch up but I'll get to the end by hook or by crook |

I remember mention of a Welsh heat so yeah you're probably right.

I'm usually going to be watching about an hour behind. I'm just finishing tonight's. I know the woman is nervous but her constant giggling is really annoying and her voice is reaching a pitch that can only be heard by dogs.

Just watching the score reveal, completely and utterly devoid of any tension or drama.
2 courses of brown/grey rubbish followed by a marginally above average dessert. But hey, in Kitchen HQ the remaining contestants are going to be judged by some of the UKs top chefs! Who could it be? Kitchen HQ looks as dull and uninspired as everything else has so far |

I caught the last part in Kitchen HQ - what a small, cheap, badly lit, and dreary set it is.

I don't get why Channel 4 didn't just buy the Australian series from Sky Living. It isn't like they don't have experience nabbing successful formats from other broadcasters..
At least it would be the real deal, and not this cheap and dreary poor imitation. |

Did anyone bother with tonight?
A really boring cook off, no comparison to the genuine MKR. It doesn't deserve to bear the MKR name. |

i'm still persevering
it just feels really flat tho Tonight's episode did give me one laugh, the Fusion Friends standing like statues on the sidelines for what must have been a couple of hours - what was the point? 😅 they looked so uncomfortable. Bit disappointed that the 'top UK chef' turned out to be.....err...Jimmy Lee |

It isn't helped by the horrible blue colour scheme, it's just so cold and unappealing.
Tonight's episode did give me one laugh, the Fusion Friends standing like statues on the sidelines for what must have been a couple of hours - what was the point? 😅 they looked so uncomfortable. Bit disappointed that the 'top UK chef' turned out to be.....err...Jimmy Lee I have found a use for the programme though, it's a good cure for insomnia. i was up at 3.30, started watching and fell asleep before the scallops were served. Woke up at the judging. Didn't rewind ... The judging was truly appalling. Miraculously Leith did appear to come alive at one point but the other two were terrible. So wooden I started looking for the strings. I don't know of Jimmy Lee but I'm betting he wishes he'd turned the gig down now he's seen it. As for the set - IKEA, was it? Or did they knock it up out of spare palettes? Emotions run high next week, according to the trailer. That'll be a first. |

Poor women - I bet the cook took most of the day to film, especially as the camera team must have kept nodding off. I hope they found them a couple of fold up chairs to sit on in between shots of them standing not even trying to look as if they cared.

My Sky planner mysteriously deleted my series link after Thursdays episode so I came home to find the cook off hadn't recorded, maybe its trying to tell me something? Luckily I found the missing episode on catch up ☺ Did you fall asleep and miss the drama? The knife accident and cries of medic!!!?....I've seen worse paper cuts I googled Jimmy Lee and apparently he was on Great British Menu either last year or the year before but he didn't get through the first round (it was the one with Jak). I don't remember him at all. I've taken to watching it and trying to imagine what Pete, Manu and Colin would be saying and scoring - I don't think we would have seen anything above a 4 or 5! |

Funnily enough IKEA was the first thing that came to my mind too!

Oh yes, I thought Jimmy Lee did look a bit familiar but the name hadn't registered at all. I think I'll save future episodes for the small hours when the cats have been rioting and I can't get back to sleep. That way I just get the beginning and the end with the occasional few minutes along the way.

I've been catching up on the TiVo and will probably keep watching out of curiosity or some form of self torture. I had been looking forward to the Hearty Hebrideans (aye right) episode to catch glimpses of 'home' in the background where they were shopping etc to see how much has changed only to find they had made them cook in Edinburgh :/
Says it all really |

Like you I was really looking forward to seeing the Hebrides IR. I was expecting to see some fishing or seaweed collecting, instead we got them meandering around Edinburgh with a couple of string bags.
It just feels really cheap, with no sense of drama at all. Poor Michael, lumbered with a dreadful format and the Leith creature

Where are they today? I didn't quite catch it...
![]() Seriously, say 'Yorkshire' once more whatever your name is and it might just cure me of having to watch this dreck to the end of the series because I've started. |

Watching on catch up and main has just been served, standard pub grub. Did you notice the Great British Menu being played in the background or were my ears deceiving me? Have they tweaked the editing a bit do you think? There seems to be a bit more commentary from the contestant, I might be imagining it I'm here til the end too Cika, you're not alone! 😅😅😅 |

Yorkshire, where you have to travel for 90 minutes to buy some trout ☺

These two seemed to be able to cope with that better than last week's teams, especially the bloke. A bit of cattiness, I mean competitiveness, creeping in in some of the comments too, I thought. It won't save it, Leith and Caines are too wooden and it's too cut price but it might make it a bit more watchable. Ever the optimist! |

The bit in the intro when Michael Caines says 'step away from your benches' is so cringeworthy, he couldn't say it with any less enthusiasm!
